Re: 解答任何有關學習鋼琴的問題
Dear Sisima
Just my personal opinion, few things you can do to help the your child not being so nervous at exams:
1) Bring along your child to test the piano and get used of the environment of the exam centre. Just once or twice will do
2) A lot of the times, examiner rather want the candidate to ask things they do not understand then doing it wrongly - for instance, if the child cannot hear clearly what the examiner asks for (esp in the scales section), instead of playing it wrongly (most frequent case is the child mixed up Left and right hand, or legato scale and staccato scale), the examiner rather the kid ask them. Also the interpreter is usually quite willing to help, and it is their job to explain, when the kid raise a question. Of course if the kid does not express that he/ she doesnt understand, then both the examiner and interpreterwill just carry on
3) some people find that try to imagine the examination process helps - ask the child to imagine how he/ she will greet the examiner, how the examiner will smile back and talkto them, how he/ she sits on the piano and play his/ her first piece etc....
4) do eat something - not too full, but eat something before going in to the examination room. Some people find chocolate helps, as usually when we are nervous, we used up a lot of energy.
5) most examiners are very nice, and they are usually very kind, esp to the lower grade. And they hope to see the kids being expressive and musical too. So instead of just playing the piece and go away, encourage the student to be imaginative
Hope this helps - I used to be an interpreter, hence I know
