Re: Kentville Chatroom for K.1 only
Dear YCPA,
Yes, Kentville is a kinder with no religious background.
About extra-curricular activities: I agree with you that kids can learn a lot from ECA, visits and picnic, but I also believe that we, as parents, can arrange the suitable ECA for our kids, we don't have to rely this on school, since we are the one who understand our child the most. Even some schools do provide some ECA or visits for their students, they can only do it several times a year, and they are usually NOT for free. Parents have to pay for it. Can't you see that mommies here are arranging a picnic for their kids?
Furthermore, Kentville does not rely just on books, they also show video tape/VCD in class. Let me quote an example: My son told me when he learned the word "魚", his class teacher took them all out to the small fish pond located nearby his classroom, and taught them how to feed the fishes. Well, you can see that Kentville is not that "traditional" nowadays, so don't worry too much.
The only deficiency I can find so far about this kinder is that they don't teach phonic in school. If you want your kid learn phonic, you have to learn it somewhere else.
