I share your feeling.  But please give your daughter, you and the school a chance to see if it really doesn't work.  You may consider submit application to other school at this stage for planning, however, it's better to exit after completing one year's schedule.  Otherwise, our kid may develop a bad habit to escape from difficulty easily.

Dear Chingchingfather,

You will need black, blue and brown ribbons or bon-bon to tie up the hair for you girl.  All the hair  must be up, no half way.  The colours should be similiar to the colour of the school uniform.  If you want to use hair clip, use only black with no other deco on.

Personally, I think I like this school very much.  My girl loves the school and her classmates.  She adores her teachers.  Although the tests and dications are hard, it is the same all over in Hong Kong.  If you ever search thru the forum of other schools, you will find MCS as rather normal.  But of course, it all depends on each child.  

Whether or not, hope your girl will like the school by the end of the year.

應該可以穿白色三個骨冷襪的，不過我冇買過。我提過的那間舖仔可能有得買。另外，我今天在花園街都見到有很多賣襪的攤當，我冇仔細看過，你自己去找找吧！

ChingChingFather's daughter is not studying in MCS yet.  He is only searching information to help him make the decision if he should choose MCS or not.

I think the study in MCS is not really hard.  The load of homework is very little, my girl usually can complete her homework within one hour.  She is not the top in her class but her result is not really bad.  She loves to study here a lot.  I don't think she has much pressure in her study (only a bit during test period).  Compared to her friends who study in other primary schools, I think we are not as hard as the others.

Over the three months, I discover that not only the campus provides a very nice study environment, the curriculum planning, the teachers, the headmistress and the PTA are professional and caring.  My girl does have a motivating and joyful school life.

As far as P1 is concern, I note the school has a high standard of requirement on the students' attitude, such as discipline and a sense of responsibility, rather than on academic achievement.   

It seems that parents' time committment and emotional support is quite essential.  Perhaps, the real challenge is the EQ and committment of the parents!

Should you want to visit the school in open day, I am afraid you have to wait for another 4 years as MCS just celebrate her 80th anniversay last year, a 2-day open day programme had been launched. The next open day will probably be around 2010-11.

I guess the choice is between a through-train school or a DSS rather than delinking the school. (My personal view only)

Nevertheless, the change will take effect base on the  year of entry.  So our daughters and yours with the entry of 2006 and 2007 will follow the existing scheme, unless the school and all the existing parents choose to date back the effect of the change.  In that case, the change must be better than the exisiting one.

各位 P1 媽咪,

有無發覺近來好少功課呀?  有時囡囡係學校做咗d, 返到屋企只需15分鐘便完成所有功課, 簡直free到死呀.

唔知係因為考完試所以咁少功課定係以後都係咁呢?

功課少都有好處，等阿女返到屋企睡覺囉！我諗剛考完試再且臨近聖誕咪放縱佢地，不過記唔記得家教會D家長都話P1係HAPPY期，較少功課！等三年班先知味道！
