Yes, you're right.  Men always behave like this and my response was exactly the same as that of your hubby

The surname didn't matter as the oral examination had already finished when I came to know about the case.

May be you're also right that the pressure is on my stupid wife rather than on the kid

The pressure on me is that I am unable to rely on my wife on the education of my kids when I myslef cannot afford spending much time on them!  You won't have the same problem as I do if you are a prudent and careful mun.

我囡囡小學讀得開心又無壓力，從未試過唔想返學，現在已順利升讀九龍城Band 1 英中，妹妹現在小二，同樣開心。亦有很多同學因為讀名校太辛苦而轉來這校。

講到這個 Show & tell，我忍唔住嗡幾句....
St.jo P.1對我來講都係新手 (因大仔P.2 才插班),
所以都要重新適應...

以前Oral exam, 考乜唔會話你知，考核時兩個、兩個去另一班房，前一個在老師處抽咭或圖，另一個係門口等(或類似程序)

成績出嘅時候，你問個仔，點解你得B? 上次有A嘅?

大家都 這些是無得準備。Also don't know why!

反觀今次是學校進步咗，Show & tell  is request a student to deliver a speech (abt. one min) to introduce his favourite toy.

The notice also set a sample to parents. 其中嘅生字全部係IPE express 課文內容有嘅..

e.g. This is a toy rabbit. It is white and small....., it is cute, I like it very much.....

要預備內容其實唔難，notice 係Christmas 前已出，時間上亦足夠去prepare, 難在佢背唔背得出.........

我今次亦大跌眼鏡....細仔竟然背得晒(he claimed)，仲話當老師考the other part 讀故事時, 故意將story 嘅原文句子內容對調, e.g. 原文是The jellyfish can be red, blue and pink. 改為 The jellyfish can be blue, pink and red. 我問佢點知，佢話12号同學讀得大聲，所以佢聽到。

大跌眼鏡....是指佢係全班人面前背嘢，以前讀KG, 佢把口係撬唔開之類別...連佢class teacher 都話要interview, 要考講嘢嘅都無佢份(primary)

這些其實歸功老師係堂上營造嘅環境，好像 before the Chinese Oral exam, his class teacher request them to read out short news article , my son was unwilling to read the whole passage, just read five sentences, then..... the teacher respond to him that the content was too short and he's too shy.....

今次口試，介詔自己和家人，佢肯記內容，雖然好細聲但唔驚了，仲話望到老師畀8分，佢係廿多号, 佢望到之前得一個9分，大多數有8分...

這些training, 如果老師's teaching approach 配合到，得益嘅係小朋友。

到P.4 時，見佢識 用英文 present science project (可看cat paper)，你就會好開心喇。

所以話讀所謂名校, 家長除了要考慮學術功課上小朋友同自己頂唔頂得順之外, 其實可以長遠的諗下名校在其他方面的訓練, 對小朋友是終身受用的, 就好似holokmom仔仔得到的presentation skills訓練.

學前輩麟媽話齋, 我地以前響熊貓鞋讀書時, 真係好多機會訓練oral and presentation skills. 我亦是樣樣啱: debating, public speaking, speech festival, drama, singing contest, 中文辯論, 朗誦...仲有prefect's board, 學會等等訓練organization 同 leadership.

呢的都係學術以外的全人訓練, 點樣企上台表達自己, 建立自信, 訓練組織能力.

其實膽量係可以練番來ga,當你習慣左係好多人面前講野同表現自己之後,就冇怕羞呢樣野,而家簡直唔知個"醜"字點寫.

多得我學校的訓練, 依家見客做presentation等等搵食都係靠個幾招. 如果企出來語文唔掂, 自信台型唔掂, 老細做咩要請.

到時阿女長大成人個年代, 競爭就將會更不可想像. 所以由阿女細個超怕羞唔開口, 到依家肯主動大大聲叫人, 我都唔知花左幾多心血方法幫佢.
