Thank you very much for your suggestion.  We would try our best to make a request to AM session.
How did your son get along with the PM session.  When does he wake up, have breakfast, lunch, take the school bus, then back home and take a nap?

I can feel your disappointment! IT'S really horrible!

I had this feeling when I've once received the waiting place from Victoria.  So please write a letter to ask for the chance! Don't copy from the others, just write what you feel and what you want to the principal.  She would consider this.

Just came home from short holiday trip and our wishes come true. Got reply from our two top choices at the same time. My hands were trembling when I opened the letters.

1) HKPS(KLN TONG)-  International Class (AM)
2) HKBUK- PM (But I apply for AM)

Don't give up if you are in the waiting list.  Write to the school to appeal.  There will always be parents who give up the seats.  Hope for the best and settle and secure your 2nd/3rd choices first.

For my son, I choose pm session because he like sleep late at night. He like to wait me and sleep with me. Then he wake up late. He always had 11 hrs sleeping time. That good for a young children. He always wake up around 10:30-11:00am and then just take light breakfast, e.g. oat,Rice Krispies (栗米片)or milk. Then 11:45 take the lunch (always noodly or spaghetti since he like). Finally, 12:45 school bus.
Afther he go home. He is not always take a nap. He will enjoy the TV and play the toy. K1 will feel tried. K2-K3 is ok. Then he is no problem when study P1.

sorry i could't reply earlier because my broadband at home has gone dead the last 2 nights.

my son got into the anglo pm class... i will write a letter to ask to switch to the am class. if he can't get into the am class then i think i will let him go to sc am class!

congrats to the other kids who got in!!     might get to c u guys on the 13th!!

for those who r on the waiting list, i think writing to the school will help.... and like i said before, 條條大路通羅馬!!!

Really want to know what would you prepare for your son to get into DBSPD?  What's your next step?
Actually it's also "my dream school" but I'm not sure if my son could perform well.

Would you also consider DPS? This would be my 2nd choice. (I have 20 score)

i'll try to answer some of the questions u have....

1) hkps int'l stream has one net and one putonghua teachers as homeroom teachers, they will be there all the time, same as anglo-chinese which has one net and one cantonese homeroom teachers
2) for int'l stream, i think it is as much as u can get. for the anglo-chinese, they have putonghua class for 20 minutes mon-thu and more on fridays because the putonghua teacher will do montessori activities with the whole class while the homeroom teachers read books individually with each student
3) sorry, don't know yet, but i would think not as much as kv
4) sorry, don't know yet,  but i would think not as hard as kv
5) yes
6) from other chats, apparently alot, afterall they aim at dbspd and la salle, and other more famous primary schools, and usually those primary school stress on academic and also extra cirricular achievements!!
7) umm, not sure what u r asking... i guess u can join drama and things like that...
8) i have heard ok, but i believe parents have more responsiblity for that
9) i have heard there's quite abit.... yes, expensive!

for more details, maybe u can ask the parents of kids going to hkps at the moment in other chats....

yes, for the esf, it is a point of no return... it will also be my last resort also!  but i think putonghua is also important in the years to come, as much as english...

can i ask what language do u speak with ur son at home??  i m thinking of how to introduce more putonghua to my son but the difficulty is i don't know much of it....

i have written a letter to hkps to try to change to am class, if my son can get into the am class at hkps, then it would be hkps!  yes, more waiting!! sigh!

hi Everything_for_Him,

ic, u r lucky u have people at home that speaks good mandarin!!  me, my english is ok because i m abit of a kwai mui, but i don't know any mandarin but in time i want my son to be fluent in that too. we have spoken to our son in english mostly since he was borned. it is since he started prenursery that he has learned more cantonese at school and we speak to him more in cantonese now that we think he's picking up english pretty well. he does understand cantonese but he would choose to respond in english even though he knows alot of the vocabs in cantonese, because in english he can speak in sentences now so he is more expressive with english. anyhow, i will see whether we can switch to putonghua in k2 if he is ready??  in time, i should try to learn more of it myself!

for primary, we do prefer dbspd also. i have heard about cky and have seen their website, it sounds good but i m scare it is too "loose", if u know what i mean.... it is more like international schools i guess.  u know that dbspd is starting to have ib soon, not for primary but i m not sure whether it is necessary to have ib in primary anyways??  what do u think? anyhow, i will research for more primary schools soon, afterall dbspd is not easy to get into!!

u r so right.... we'll send our son abroad when "i am ready", as a mother i know exactly what u mean!!

don't worry! Most of the kids take the int'l class but target to the local famous primary schools!
