Re: 啟基小學
My son is a p1 student in CCS. We went to the interview last year and Dr. Luk has mentioned that the Board of Education has suggested CCS to have a secondary school. However, she refused because the location the Education Board provided would be in T.K.O. and she doesn't like it.
There is one thing I really want to share w/ the parents who are applying CCS for their kids. On the beginning of this new school year, we were still very concern that CCS does not has a secondary school. But after these few months, we have found something that is much more important than whether CCS has or has not a secondary school. That is, we truly believed that under the love, caring, and teaching of CCS, my son will enjoy his childhood and learn to become a confident and a caring person. This is much more important than any promise of going to a band 1 secondary school.
On the beginning of the semester, I have a conversation w/ my son's class teacher, Ms. Yip. I have informed her that my son was a shy kid w/ low confidence and low self-esteem. He is afraid to stand up and speak in front of a group of people. After our conversation, Ms. Yip has given my son more chances to express himself in the class. Through games and exercises, she let him speak in front of the class and give him duties and gave compliments at the right time. Now after only 2 months, I can see gradual changes from my son. He is now so eager to take duties and became more responsible.
2 weeks ago, my son was ill and threw up in the class. He stayed home for about 4 days. And one day when we picked up his homework from school, we found a get-well card from his teachers and classmates. The card was only a simple white card, but it contained drawings, stickers and simple wordings from his P1 classmates and teachers. It was the best get-well card we have ever seen. We were so touching and my son was happy to see that his classmates were missing him. Since his class only contained 19 students, so I think that's why their relationship are so close. And w/ a smaller group of students, the teachers have more time in understanding and caring for each of their students. We were so glad that we chose CCS for him. |
