My son always complain to me that his school is poor with many activities to parti ...
I think you are talking about the college, not the primary section that we discussed here :)
secondary school is another story
yea most (I should say 99%) activities in secondary school are organized by the senior grades, same case in my girl's school, and those community services are rather common and its true ,good for them... my girl just went to help out to paint a big wall in a center for the less privileged, v messy haha
the point is, I see the big differences between my lasallian boy's sch and the direct subsidy one... no matter the resources, the passion and patience of the teachers...and how much effort they are willing to give...and the thing that bothered me most is the thinking they imprinted to my child
my lasallian boy don't even dare to write "I am unhappy when I do homework" ( I'm talking about young primary stage, not college)....because he said teacher told they must write happy and even "the classroom is noisy" is also wrong, becoz they have to write smth positive.... this is only the eng homework, not to mention the chi one and at that point, I finally understood why would their dse results are so good ,becoz they have been trained to be zero variation with the model answer since young stage,I don't know it's good or bad to be honest
while my other boy, he could be really creative on all his homework, some are quite mind-blowing, the tolerance level of the teachers are really high, he once made an acrostic poem with My Evil Teacher starting...they finally made jokes together and had a good laugh...it is also in primary stage
maybe your boy's school is less traditional, but not my boy's one :(
