Calix said they'd learnt 「大」，「手」﹠「腳」.  He also said 「大企鵝」，「大腳」，「爸爸／媽媽隻腳」...the words sound strange.

today cassidy also told me they taught A... but she surprised me one thing... normally the book or prenursery will teach A for Apple.. A for Aeroplane... but cassidy today told me... A "is" for "an" Apple, A is for an Aeroplane... wow... 勁

also.. she told me 大，手，腳also

and she sing 10 little indians girls too

tomorrow me and cassidy will out of town and have a family trip.. see you all on tuesday,.. tell me more what had happened @ school tomorrow monday and tuesday

Why yr kids are so smart that telling u so much from school? Luckily we have this platform to share.

When Vianca come back fm school yesterday, she called me to my office & asked whether she can turn on TV to watch "Tom & Jerry". I asked her what happened in school but she just gave a few simple answer. Then, she said to me on the phone, "唔講啦! 你返工麻, 你返黎先啦!" Obviously she wanted to hang up.

Maybe I'm a full-time mom and have more time to probe Calix to tell me more about his school life.  Yet, his expression ability is limited and therefore I always act as a detective to put many clues together before I report here.  
Your girls are really good in expression and organization, esp. Cassidy who is our major information provider!

Forgot to tell that Calix recited the Chinese rhyme "兒童樂園" on the 2nd last page of the story book yesterday.  
KV really impressed me a lot in motivating the kids to learn and all of them look very happy too!

I'd asked Calix if they had played "domino" today.  He said yes and Ms. Lam played with them (that should be true as Ms. Lam teaches Maths).  I asked him how many dots are there on the domino and he said "1".  I guessed they'd learnt counting 1 today.
Calix knew a girl from K1G on the school bus.  Today he showed me the girl after getting off from the bus.  The girl stood up and waved goodbye to Calix.  Ms. Kung stopped that girl from doing that immediately.  This makes me feel that KV really has a good discipline on school bus.

The school bus driver remembers Calix's Chinese name already as I heard her saying his name yesterday. I think Calix should be very happy on the school bus now since he knows some friends on the bus.

Our family had one day boat trip yesterday in Sai Kung. It was wonderful. Vianca swam a lot, of course with her swimming ring. Daddy & me were exhausted also because we had to follow her all the way.

When we were home at 6, Vianca took a bottle of milk & slept up to this morning. Terrible!!!

This morning on Vianca bed, I tried to wake her up by saying "Miss Chan is calling your name, you've to say PRESENT la!" Then she opened her eyes, and ask "Miss Lam 呢?" Luckily it worked.
Surely Vianca enjoys her school life!

Yeah, I also find that it's very effective to use Ms. Chan's name to ask Calix to be more behaved, e.g. this morning he refused to hold the cup to drink milk by himself, then I said, "Ms. Chan asks you to hold the cup by yourself."  Then Calix immediately held the cup and drank the milk by himself.  By seeing this, I tried to praise him by saying, "that's good!  I'll tell Ms. Chan that you're very 叻叻 when I see her next time."  Then Calix said, "not next time, say it now" which made me burst into laughter!

Calix took out the new story book immediately after getting off from the school bus.  He asked me to let him fix the stickers on p.3.  I asked if that's requested by Ms. Chan and he said yes.
Actually I guess they might have started this book last week already as I mentioned "快樂的一天" to Calix last weekend (I read the book title from the Longman folder) , he looked very surprised and said "hello Ms. Chan!  Hello Ms. Lam!".  When I read this book today, I think Calix was referring to p.4.

Also, there's a red dot below the number "1" on p.3.  That's what Vianca and Calix talked about the domino last week.

2 more things:
(1) to HappyJolly:  Is your daughter's chinese name 莊富純 as Calix spelt the name "Chong Fu Soen (or should be Suen?)" to me last week.  Seems that he quite likes her.

(2) When I was on the taxi today with Calix, he said "唔好蝦女仔" suddenly.  I asked who told him about this and he said was Ms. Chan.  I asked if he had "蝦女仔" in school and he said no.  So funny!

1 more thing (sorry I'd sent so many messages):
Calix seems to care about his homework (fixing the stickers) very much.  When he found one of the stickers not fixing very neatly, he took it out and re-fix it by saying, "要貼靚d".  I really appreciate that he's growing up with KV day by day...

Calix is gifted -- good memory and observation, at least.  The spelling of my daughter's name is exactly what he told you (no spelling mistake, quite marvellous !).    Her Chinese name is 富淳.  Has Calix been exposed to some "right brain" trainings?

When I asked 富淳 any classmates she remembers, she said names like "Charles", "Ko wing yin", "Toby".  She does not seem to know the name Calix.  Perhaps she might know Calix by Chinese names.  Let me ask her again later.

Today 富淳 told me that only one boy in the class got a sticker from Ms. Chan, for being able to read something correctly.  Is it Calix who got it?

Calix told me that Ms. Chan calls his English name in class.  Anyway, his Chinese name is 嘉熙.  See if your girl knows him then.

Calix didn't get any sticker today.  There should be someone else.

Tonite I tried to play the school iife with Calix by asking him to act what he does in school everyday.  Some highlighted points are:

(1) They'll take the handbook to Ms. Chan and get the flower stamp from her immediately.  This is different from what the mamas from other threads saying that their kids will take out the handbook and pile up on the teacher's desk for stamping.

(2) Before the class starts, they need to stand up and bow to Ms. Chan and Ms. Lam when saying good morning.  Then Ms. Chan will ask them to sit down.

(3) When they go to the toilet, they just walk to the washroom one by one in a queue without putting their hands onto the shoulders of the one in front of them.

(4) When they go to the school bus when returning home, they need to put the hands onto the shoulders of the one in front of them.

(5) "Lo Yee Fun" is sitting next to Calix.

(6) Calix also demonstrated to me how he has snack and water in school.  They need to say "小朋友食茶點" before eating.  I asked if they need to say "老師食茶點" and he said yes then.

You can also try this game to learn more about what our kids have done in school everyday.

Calix is not as smart as you think.  Actually he is still like a baby and says baby words sometimes.  Also, his self-management ability is poor as he's very dependent on me.  
Today I showed the Chinese word cards of the 2nd week to Calix and he could recognize the 3 words.  It's very interesting that he imitated Ms. Chan holding the cards and said "mali mali hom" and then took out the card of "耳".

me and cassidy really got a good time in the family trip

tobygirl888, i'm so 羨慕vianca will swim a lot by herself with her swim ring.. since cassidy never do that.. she like to go to the beach and swimming pool.. she likes to play water.. but NEVERswim by herself... she always hold us with her arm and she never try to use swim ring.. ho ma fan

dun think they can go to school in the coming morning .. i guess the typhoon signal will still on no. 3.. she'll miss a school day again

hope she'll not cry when back school.. coz she seems to be still in the holiday mood.. when i told her tomorrow will back school.. she told me she still in holiday haha

really hope more classmates' mom will join this forum and we'll know more about their school life

hey .. tell you what.. i've just joined a phonics programme for cassidy starting in oct.. do your kids joining any activities outside school?
