After reading this very interesting thread, I can't help stopping to write my 'Static Life Experience'. However, I have to say sorry that I have never try to find the perfect school in the world. Before I write, I have to warn the fellow readers that this will be a very boring one. For those who wish to read about exciting, dramatic incidence can skip it.
Thankful, I can assure you that I have no ulterior motive since there will be no market for a book, pyschological program, investment plan or immigration plan based on 'Static Life Experience'.
Since this is static life, I can start when I was born. I was born in Hong Kong. I was also educated in Hong Kong.
During my under-grad. year, I met my wife. She remains the only woman in my life.
I work under the same roof, even on the same table, but not the same chair (since it torn down!) for the past 20 years. I also have the same sub-ordinate for the past 18 yrs.
In late 80's to early 90's, I lose several hundred dollars in the casino and horse racing course and several thousand dollars in the stock market. Then, I decided to give all my income except for the pocket money to my wife. I knew she made long term, low risk investment but I never border what she did.
In mid 90's, I got immigrate permits from Singapore and New Zealand. I got them for free since I fill up the application form myself. However, due to my 'static' character, we stay in Hong Kong.
In 1997, my wife had already been senior civil servant for x yrs and she earned $xxxxx +$xxxxx housing allowance. However, she was lucky (or unlucky) enough not to work in a diviison (like 政治部 of the Royal Police Force) to handle sensitive information. She was not entitle to "Confidential Schemes for Certain Senior Civil Servants".
During Asian economic crises and SARS, we did lose money. Since my wife only make low risk, long term investment, it is only of norminal value and we quickly recover.
In 2002, my son was born. As most of the parents, I find my son is the most handsome, diligent, brilliant and grifted baby in the world.
Fours yrs ago, I discovered my sub-ordinate log-on BK during working hour. This was the first time I discovered this forum. In here, I came across Daydream and his difference idenities, thankful and many many others. Here, I take this opportunity to thank them to give me some fun in my life.
Two yrs ago, I listened to advice of my friends. I send my son to SIS which I think it is the suitabe school school for him. Last month, his class teacher told me that he was doing excellence in every aspect in school. He also has a couple of little girl friends now.
Last year, I came across a Feng-shui C Fu. When I first met him, he gave me a Chinese herbal medicine formula to treat my bald head, (which I think is a very minor receding hair line and people may not even notice it) for free. He also boost his relationship with many religious leader in Hong Kong. He said he did his Feng-shui job for free and just to 積陰德. Then He said my ancestors were in trouble in the after-world and needed to do a series of 法事 to help them. It needed >$20000. He said the fee was on cost only and he had nothing to do with it. Althougth I did not believe him, I paid the money. It is because my ancestors are very important persons to me. He said 法事 was done in China. I never knew whether it was done.
It is my 'Static Life Experience'. Those who have the patience to read through this may think---"What a boring life".
However, I am very happy and thankful and I learn from all these years to be 隨緣. |
