各位好,

我是07K1取錄生家長.現心情好亂,因對學校所知不多.現有幾個問題想問?

1.請問貴 子女入讀後學習態度,行為有否改變?是否學到嘢?
2.跟據現在進度,學校是否落實到他們的教學理念呢?
3.有否擔心貴 子女之英文程度呢?
4.總括講貴 子女對學校生活開心程度5分為滿分,你會俾幾多呢?

1.你是指學到甚麼?以我bb為例,如果說一些學術上的東西,那就真的不大多.但我在觀課時見到他們學懂自動自覺,在家中也會主動脫襪,穿襪.今天早上,細佬還要主動地自己刷牙(以前通常是我們幫他的)
2.我覺得是.所以你如考慮讀,一定要信她那套,否則你會有很多怨言.
3.不會.有利一定有弊.一般所謂的外籍老師,都只會是外籍,不是"老師",不會有教育的訓練.我寧願要一個懂小孩,懂教育的老師.要學曉一種語言,最重要是環境的配合.一間有一個長註的外籍老師,小朋友一定比較上會說得好少少,因為他有需要說.但,如果他周圍仍是廣東話,當需要不在時,就會打回完型..學的東西會忘記,學習態度和興趣不會忘記.(ps我是信母語教學的).
4.我兩個非常喜歡返學,非常喜歡老師,老師一句,比我百句有效.eg,我細孖很討厭搽ceam在面上,早兩日黃老師說他面乾,請他回家叫我幫他搽cream,昨晚他主動要我幫他搽(以前一搽就把面在枕頭轉,把cream揩在枕頭,我要在他熟睡後才可以搽),還要一副enjoy樣,激死!

1. From 學術上的東西, let me give you one example. I discovered that my daughter learnt words eventually during the classes without any memorization.  One example is that she pointed out the word "今" from a poster and said "this is 今". I was wondereing when she learnt this word.  And she told me that she learnt it from 晴雨表 . "今天是2006年x月x日, 今天是晴天..etc...". So I found out that she can recognized all words from the 晴雨表.
Apart from academic aspect, my daughter also learnt to do things by herself, eg. brush teeth, wear clothes and even fold the clothes and blanket. (she learnt the method of folding clothes and blanket at school).

3. Now they have 2 english lessons and 1 putonghua lessons per week. I think it's enough as they have too many things to do everyday. I think the main point is the quality of the lesson rather than the time spent on it.  

4. I think my daughter will give full mark as she really enjoys going to school.  She kept asking me when she can go to school again during the Christmas holiday.

These are only my own opinion. Every parents have their own expectation. Hope that you can find your ideal school!

I guessed you felt 心情好亂 because your son was accepted by other kinders.  It is difficult for you to choose an 'ideal' kinder to him.  Am I right?

Regarding your questions, I tried to share my views with you as I also had similar questions before.

My son is studying K.1 now.

1. It is difficult to measure the learning attitude of a child in view of their small age.  I believed that all children are good learners as BUK could provide them a good learning environment.  I observed that my son could tell us the knowledge we never taught him before and we surely he learnt this knowledge in school.  For the behaviour, my son is a shy boy before.  However, he became more sociable after going to school (I am not sure whether this change is due to the education).

2. I satisfied with the learning progress and teaching approach at this moment.

3. I am not worry of his English standard.  I believed that he understood what did the English teacher said in class.

4. I gave 4 marks.  My son went to a nursery before going to BUK.  He showed great difficulty to adjust the life in the nursery.  However, he could adjust easily in BUK and he enjoyed to go to school everyday.

Will they "check" the residental address when they consider the intake? do I need to move closer in order to "increase" the acceptance "chances"?

I don't think they consider where you live, rather they consider whether parents are in the same direction as the school.
