Anson was absent today becoz she got fever and cough.  She did the homework with letter A yesterday.  It nearly make me crazy with her ugly writing.  I have to erase them again and again to ask let her re-do the writing.

How's Anson? Have you visited the doctor? Hope she's fine soon.

Chun Him's writing is also ugly, but I tried not to erase them to avoid discouraging him. Hope he will have improvement later.

Anson must catch the cold due to the cold weather ...Take care ! Hope she will be fine soon..and get her to wear more warm cloths.

We are all on the same boat for their "creative" writing...if it was not too bad, i would not erase his writing...agree with Weewee ...better not to discourage them...they just learn writing...their fingers may not fully developed or strong enough for writing.  And also let Ms So see their progress.

Today I accompanied Chun Him to school by MTR. He's very excited and happy!

I've talked to Miss So for a while. She mentioned that there would be no further writing exercise (alphabets) before Lunar new year holiday. But after holiday, they will start to write EVERYDAY! So, well prepared for the coming challenge!

事源今日我同一位媽咪傾計, 佢個仔而家在喇沙小學讀小六, 以前亦是kv學生, 對育兒好有心得. 我同佢講, Chris唔識自動自覺做功課, 要等我放工回家,仲要我問有沒有功課做才"請"到他去做...

那位媽咪話我知, 這做法會同kv所教的一套背道而馳, 因為kv教他們,做功課係小朋友的責任, 唔應該等父母在身邊才拿來做. 應該要他放學後自己做, 做對做錯唔重要, 主要係訓練他們自立, 由小到大知道放學回家便要完成自己的功課. 否則, 這三年裡, 他習慣了要父母叫才做, 到了小學, 功課不止一,兩樣, 而係要面對其他十幾份功課,測試和exam, 到父母回家時要在兩.三小時內完成所有嘢, 到時真係會發癲!

想想吓, 佢番話不無道理, 我就係因為怕嫲嫲在, 嫲嫲平日上午會來我家接佢放學,陪佢食飯,玩耍直至Chris午睡了才走, 嫲嫲的身份, 就像每天來和他玩耍, 我們亦覺得嫲嫲唔識睇佢做功課, 因為學期初, 有次嫲嫲同佢做書本的貼圖都做錯晒...所以老公叫她不要同阿仔做. 因此, 我都係放工回家後才睇吓佢有什麼做. 不過我諗這真不是辦法, 如果遲吓日日都有功課, 總不能日日等我回來做到10點, 11點才睡.

我都要計劃"如何執行自動做功課", 可能要工人姐姐叫他午睡後就要拿來做, 我番屋企才check. 你地有什麼賜教? Thanks.

Chris ma,

Currently, they will have friday homework, right? So, I would accompany him to do the homework on friday when I'm back. I also guess it no longer works if they need to do the homework every day. Now, I plan to request my maid to set up the homework desk and poll him every day after lunch to see if there is any homework to do. Then, I can check it when home. If he gets used to this habit, I hope we no longer to poll him but will do it by himself hopefully.

I believe building a habit takes time. But if we keep up with this, they will get used to it. e.g. every day when they arrive at school, they will say 'good morning' to Miss So, take out the handbook and place on her desk, put the school bag under the table and go to washroom by themselves. Chun Him is not an independent person. But I observed that (at least for today), he can do all these things without a word from Miss So or me. I feel very happy. I guess if he can do it at school, he can do the same at home. The important thing is we need to build up his habit.

I won't be too aggressive. I won't expect that he can do it in a week. I just hope that he can manage to do his homework proactively by himself when he starts his study in K2. Hope that we can build up his habit in 2nd term.

Anson still fever and it was 40 degree this morning.  The virus is too strong that seems the antibiotic cannot work well.  I planned to send her to hospital if she still got high fever after the nap.

poor Anson! A lot of kids have been suffering from cold/flu recently. Adrian said Anson hasn't been to school for 2 days already. I hope her fever will be under control and recover real soon.

same as me, i need to ask / remind Wingtung whether any homework need to do when i back ...
also dont know how to improve her..but just think, seem still early...maybe she need sometimes to do...so, maybe after lunar new year, if they have homework everyday, then it can change their mind....i am waiting .....

Hi Chu Him / Wing Tung's Ma,

Thanks for your note.  I always act scurry.  Every time when I see Chris is playing around and not to concentrate on his homework, I will act hurry and lost my patience.  However, I will try to control myself and not to let him know I'm angry.  I know that I can't make him feel that doing homework is a tough thing.

Anyway, I will start asking him to do his homework after the afternoon nap from this week with some rewards.

Anson still absent today coz she cannot sleep well last night due to the cough, but assure she will back to school tmr.  Miss So called me and had a short conversation with Anson today, she was so happy.

Most of the time, Anson eat super slow and I threaten her that "This will be like a naughty girl and I will told Preston not to play with you".  However, Anson replied "No la, Preston will play with me and he doesn't mention he will not play with naughty girl".

These days we talked a lot at home.  Anson told me she will chat with Preston and Wingtung when Miss So is drawing.  I asked her did Miss So asked them to keep quiet?  She said no and they will sit well when Miss So asked them to do so....Anson also said "Kenneith also want to join the chatting". Chating with Anson is so funny and I can know what a little girl is thinking.

For the CNY, I asked Anson what to say during the CNY, she replied "Kong Hei Fat Choi and a New Year song (我要唱歌恭祝你, 開開心, 好福氣; 我要唱歌恭祝你, 吉星隨著你尾.)"  It is funny that she can sing the song with meaningful 手勢.

Preston told me Tung Tung, Anson and Gladys were absent yesterday.  Hope you all will be fine soon.  
I told Preston of your converation that he will not play with naughty girls...he replied seriously yes..he will not play with naughty girl ga... it was so funny chit chatting with them.

Anson is so great!!! Adrian also sings the '好福氣' song at home.  as he sings while he laughs, i could hardly hear what he's singing. i could only hear '好福氣'  and '恭喜你'.
