另外我都問左一班有幾多人, 佢話佢地係用小組形式, 每組約有十幾人（佢冇話我知正確數字）佢話有時會兩組一個課室, 有時又會同K2一齊上, 佢話等佢地多D接觸唔同的同學, 好彈性架!

Dear all,

We my son came back today, i saw a scare around 2 cm on his face.  About 1 pm, Miss Fung called me and explained why my son had a scare. (only because he took a book carelessly.)  It seems very good to me as they are really take care our children.

I remember hearing the headmistress, Ms Chung saying that all their staff will speak English most of the times, so even though they only have two foreign teaches, I think it's still better than nothing.

Why I have this thought (of course, it could be a completely wrong impression) is that during my daughter's interview (both my wife and I were there), I was very disappointed about the English standard of the interviewer (I couldn't recall her face or name any more).  Before entering SJC, my daughter studied (should be played around ) in an international nursery so I think native speakers (especially foreigners) do have a very positive effect on children, at least in pronunciation and getting along with foreigners.

Personally I like the huge number of NETs in St Catherine but I am the main culprit (I didn't prepare well and I answered the parent part poorly) of having my daughter placed in the waiting list there.  Nevertheless, every kindergarten has its merits and demerits so it is impossible to have an apple-to-apple comparison.  I am more than glad that my daughter is studying in SJC so far I observe.

Zacahriah 識好多野喎.  My daugher could barely count to twenty.  How old is Zacahriah?  Just curious - same question as sally1, has he learned from you or from playgroup(s)?

My son did not talk much about the school life even I asked him.  The only thing I know is he cried during snack time.   He hate bread,  no matter in any shape, flavour.  He never eat bread since baby.  He told me that he don't want to eat bread and don't want to go to school.  Although I hope he can eat bread and not so selective about food, but just afriad that forcing him to take it will frighten him further .   He seems happier when returning home than going to school.

我個b係1月出世, 所以3歲8個月了, 比平時d小朋友遲了入學, 因為什麼一定要足3歲先收生....

其實我成日同佢講d數字話題, 如: 數車牌號碼, 飲品容量, 外國火車編號等等.... 因為我覺得小朋友對數字敏感會好好, 猶太人對數字好準確及快速, 我睇過一本書講及他們自小訓練小朋友對數字的經過, 覺得幾好玩 至於拼音係由幾種唔同光碟教材學習, 其中一套係"Between The Lions", 有關info可去--->  PBS Kids 網站看到~

My son is in K2 now.  Not as Ms Chung said that their staff will speak English most of the times.  He said most of the times his classmistress speaks Cantonese, she just speaks little English.  Same as in his K1!  I always worry about his English.  I have to send him to private English classes although it is supposed that he learns more English in an English Kindergarten.

我仔仔依兩日朝早都話唔想返學呀,但係佢放學返到屋企果時係好開心咁打比我話o係學校畫左圖畫架,我夜晚返去同佢傾計,佢都話返學開心,鍾意返學架,但係到朝早我見佢唔開心,因為佢以前返幼兒班唔會咁架,我問佢佢就話唔想返學,唔知係咪唔慣搭校車,因為以前係爸爸車佢返學架,我今晚會問下佢,有D擔心呀,不過只係第四日,我諗應該好快會適應既,但係有一晚佢同我講話想返apple班(以前果班),可能掛住同學仔啦!!! :-|  :-|  :-|  :-|  :-|  :-|  :-|

我諗你唔駛太擔心, 我囝囝都係朝朝都話唔返學架! 仲朝朝都唔肯著校服, 要係車度先至著, 忡日日都喊呀！ 佢都成日話要返以前果間學校架（但係佢以前都係成日話唔返學架), 但係佢都係放學開心架! 我諗真係要比一段時間佢地適應, 就算大人轉左新環境都要時間適應啦! 我諗我地都要放開一點呀!  唯有比D時間佢地啦!

For me, as I said, I only talked to Ms Chen in English so far.  Ah, no, I also overheard Ms Wong speaking English with my girl after the interview, she was not bad.  But I don't know much about the others.
