我囡囡是今年9月升讀小學一年級。我已經為囡囡在暑假時讀一些預備班之外。現在要囡囡做一d 小一的補充習作，公文式的英文，鋼琴。因聖心學校是重視舞蹈及音樂的。

Where di d you study the pre-primary course then I can prepare for next week. for Kumour English, the kumour teacher said if my girl is only 5 yrs not suitable for kumour. and need to start with the Kumour math first. How's yr comment on Kumour english.? tks/richardma

其實kumon 的英文同數學是分開，有d人會同一時間讀兩科。而我為什麼只會懂英文，而不懂數學。
因為我覺得數學可以自己教及比多d補助款習作給小朋友做，而且數學的變化不大(在小學的課程，我相信家長可以應付得來的。)
而英文的變化太大，未必自己能教到，又不必肯定是否正確(在音標方面)，所以我最後都選擇了英文一科。我覺得學語言是由細個學是最好的。
我囡囡未夠五歲就kumon英文(EFL)，懂了兩個level之後，發覺佢很講，上英文堂會大聲讀出上堂的句子，人的信心大了。我訂期會問佢的班主任及KUMON 的老師，了解囡囡在學校的進展及情況。
而且kumon 會升班的，最基本是由7a開始，慢慢地升上去，每當合格升班，囡囡就會有一種滿足感。
但我看kumon的課程介紹，是3歲以上開始就可以懂kumon，不過沒有講明是懂那一科。
你要小心留意，kumon的英文分兩種，一種是國際的(EFL)，另一種是比較淺的（EPR)，EPR 是淺的課程，比一d 讀EFL 不適應/不適合的小朋友就讀，而讀完EPR的課程的人就可以跟住讀EFL。

我幫囡囡參加了兩個小一課程，是英文及數學。在灣仔區上課的。如果有需要E-MAIL資料給你!

各位好!小女都係今年升聖心小一(下午)。有幾個問題煩請各家長多多指教：
1. 我見學校有各種課外活動，P1新生會在上學期己可參加，或是要到下學期才有？是否自費參加？收費如何？有否規定最多或最少參加多少項？另有那些活動可選擇？是否學校去挑選同學去參加特別的團隊，例如樂團、泳隊等？
2. 課外活動是否安排在平日上午或星期六進行？活動時間通常是從幾時到幾時？學校會否安排校巴？

Scared Heart Canossian School ( Private Section)

Can anyone help me to answer following questions?

1) What english books they usually use for P.4? Are they using "Longman 5A and 5B" for the whole academic year for P.4? Please tell me the whole full name of the books so that I can check. I am quite concern about the school's ENGLISH level.

2) How many English story books they need to study throughout the whole year?

3) For Chinese subject, what books they will use for P.4? Because I am wondering if they are using higher level books for both Chinese & English subjects.

4) We heard that Maths. was not so difficult to study (same level like other schools), can you tell me the Maths books they will use too?

5) Compare to other traditional schools, do they have heavier homework workload everyday? If the students concentrate on working, can they finish about 1-1/2 hour?

6) How many lessons per week that teached by foreigh teachers? How many Mandarin lessons per week?

7) Is the dictation of Chinese & English taking alternative week? Thatmeans one week is Chinese, and the other week is English.
