My kid is in P3.  I didn't receive notice about the mid-autumn festival.  Probably you are right, only the lower form students can participate in the cerebration.

My guess is, the school is running out of space now, with 5 more P1 classes this year, so that there is no place to accommodate all students for the cerebration.  Well, if it is what I think, we can only wait for the opening of the new campus, 2.5 years later. Too bad.

To have better understanding of CKY, I would suggest you go through this thread, some info is quite useful.  

BTW.  Below are some extracts from previous chats:

CKY claims herself as a bilingual school, and plays almost equal weight on Chinese(Putonghua) & English, this may be the main difference between international school and CKY. However, I deem that CKY adopts a similar teaching approach as interntional schools, such as 'happy learning', and will have less study pressure comparing with traditional schools.

若根據去年經驗，小孩子會由老師帶領到其它課室玩遊戲，如中文併字，'女'+'子'；simon says．．；而家長就需要填問卷，及與老師見面，傾談孩子在家中情況，亦會問到孩子每星期會花多少時間閱讀，每月到圖書館的次數等。

小孩子遊戲過程約一個多小時，老師帶他們回來時，大多數都是笑咪咪的，因為有糖果送。小孩反應是開心的，故不需要有甚麼訓練及準備，以平常心出席即可。

至於有否以英文進行面試，家長就以廣東話，可能小孩子玩遊戲時會以英語進行。

Actualy, the school fee is not including music fee!!! I would better to chose Inl't Music school .. Wor..$7000 per month....same as GSIS

Dear tinatam,

It's difficult to comment whether it is 'difficult to enter', because my son could enrol in, but he experienced to be rejected or to be put on waiting list last year.  The successful ratio last year was about 1:10.  To me, a nice profile will not be the 'make or break'.

Regarding English standard - over 50% subjects are taught in English.  If children seldom read books, or not graduated in English kindergartens, they may find it quite difficult to adapt at the very beginning.

CKY is not a traditional school.  I'd suggest you choose it because you like her mission.  If your main consideration is on $$$, frankly speaking, CKY is quite expensive.  The school fee for secondary school is over HKD5K a month.

I'd suggest you go through this thread from the beginning, so that you will know how CKY runs the school.

I joined the parents night for Y6 parents yesterday and the experience is very good. I learn about the syllabus and the requirements of the school. I feel that the teachers are all very caring and nice. Though the classrooms are small, it fosters a cosy and warm learning environment. After meeting Principal Ip and the teachers, I am not so worried about the new subjects and high standard of the textbooks. Anyway it should be the delivery of teaching that matters. And I appreciate the approach of the enquiry-based learning. Kids though in Y6 are still very active in asking questions and raising hands. It's not easy to find such a energetic response from students in conventional schools.

So far I've pay $2305 for books for Y6. Don't know whether we need to buy some more books later.

This is joanneheungyy, would like to say Hello to CKY parents that have communicated with me some time ago (around June this year). My daughter has successfully inserted to year 2. Big Thank You to CKY parents who have given us advises and encouragements.

I have been reading this thread from time to time. But every time, I have to search it from the very beginning, ie from P.1, P.2, P.3... and so on until I found this thread. This is very time consuming. I have tried the search settings provided by BK here many times, but not successful. Could someone kindly advise how to access this thread more easily/directly? Many thanks in advance for your advice/assistance.

It's glad to hear that we have a new CKY member here.

My way to access this thread quickly is to go to my own account to find out this thread.  As the account shows the 10 most recent released topics, and most of my topics are about CKY, so that I have no difficulty to access this thread.

You could click into your own account (the account name is shown on the top of BK's banner) to find out your detailed info.  And you click '新的在前'.  to view the most recent topics.

The other way is to bookmark this thread in the website, click 我的最愛, then click 加到我的最愛。
