That means the 適齡10 pts is for everyone lah, right? (That means this 10 pts is not competitive at all)  My boy is not first child, so only score 5 pts for Catholic.

Don't worry.  Both the kindergarten and the primary school have very strong "moral" obligation to admit ALL K3 students.  You will understand more upon attending the P1 application briefing to be held on September.

Be relax.  Our war (for the whole family) will begin on primary one and will last for six years.

I worried more about whether my boy will be competent in primary because only half primary pupils will be promoted to secondary, right?

Very scaring even think about it ..

AGREE!         

You know what, a friend of my 姑奶 said their son (P3) could not cope with the SJ Primary syllabus. (even the parents are both teachers)  He did his homework until very late at night, and revised every Sats and Suns.  Finally, they have to quit the seat and changed school, coz they all couldn't bare the pressure.

It is really a WAR, do you think so??

My second girl is having 呈分試 now!! Another worry!!! The secondary school accepts only if the result is B or above.         

As parents, worries never stop!!

Is such story common also in other 'branded' schools ?  or only St. Jo. ?

St. Jo F1有5班，約175人。
St. Jo F185%的位會收St. Jo P6學生, 約150人(47%)。
據一位St. Jo P5家長说，頭80名(80/320=25%)可直升F1;81至約200名中有70名(70/120=58%)可升F1(absolutely by lucky draw)i.e. 考200名的可能抽到升F1，考81名的無位要出局。
所有家長，包括我，會竭盡全力，助小朋友考全班10名內。
隔籬Wan Yan P6有4班，F1也有4-5班，收85%.
其他有直屬中學的名校也有壓力，但客觀上較低。
樂觀來看，St. Jo F1收一半P6學生，已較其它無直屬中學的小學優勝。
