Re: HK Preschool - Royal Ascot
Hi everyone. I'm so sorry for my silence and for having missed out on so many outings already. I cannot read Chinese so I can't really follow the thread properly but some of you continued writing in English so I could understand parts of the 86 posts. Hee hee.
I had a bit of a stressful time in the last 2 months. We lost 3 staff at work so I had to do 3 people's jobs. On top of that, I terminated my helper and my parents came over for a visit in Sydney. Things are starting to get better now.
Pui Pui has been sick so often too since she started school. In fact, I don't think her runny nose/cough has subsided However, pulling her out from school in the last 2.5 weeks really helped. We've got ALL coupons to get her vaccines done.
Pui's speaking a lot more chinese too. She knows how to respond to people in Chinese, can count in Chinese, can name body parts in Chinese and can even say lots of Chinese words. This is wonderful news for us because she doesn't get much Chinese at home. She's started singing but not as good as some of your kids because I have trouble understanding what she's trying to sing. She sings English songs well but Chinese songs ....err... I can't really work out what she's singing.
Pui still cries when we send her to school. She'll still carry her bag and walk in but she'll cry saying, "Bye bye". Still breaks my heart.... I feel guilty because my parents and inlaws keep telling me how bad it is to let such a young child go to school (and making her sick in the process). She still says she wants to go "kai kai" and "no no school" but according to Ms Tam she's very happy in school.
Pui' starting to speak in sentences although progress is slow compared to my sister's little girl in Canada who is 2 months older and can speak like an adult. My parents who visited them commented on it so that made me feel really bad. Oh well.....
I've decided not to go on the outing this Saturday or the Christmas party. We calculated that all up would cost us HK$1,000. We've decided to use that money to buy two annual gold passes for Ocean Park instead. Pui loves Ocean Park.
Anyway, we should meet up again soon when they have another seminar for parents
PS: We have an interview with Anchors, Tai Po this Saturday. I'm still unsure whether to go there or keep her in Preschool because Preschool's bus doesn't go to my area. We'll see... she's so used to Preschool that I don't really want to pull her out. It's now Popularity (Preschool) vs Closer to home (Ascot). |
