- Ying Wa Girls' School (“YWGS”) is a government aided EMI secondary school. The School was founded in 1900 by the former London Missionary Society, and is now a related school of the Hong Kong Council of the Church of Christ in China. - Application procedure :
Collection of Application Form
i) Download from school website (www.ywgs.edu.hk) and print on A4-sized white paper, or
ii) Collect from the school (each person may collect no more than 2 application forms)
Period :i) Download from school website : 12 December 2016 - 18 January 2017
ii) Collect from the school 12 December 2016 - 18 January 2017 (except Sundays & Public Holidays)
Office Hours :Monday to Friday : 9:00 am - 5:00 pm
Saturday : 9:00 am - 12:00 noon
Place :School reception at the front entrance
Documents required :N/A All applicants will be invited for an interview, the date of which is 11 March 2017 (Saturday). Details will be announced in due course. The admission result will be announced on 11 July 2017 concurrently with the release of the Central Allocation results. In the event that there are still unfilled places, the School will contact the applicants on our waiting list. Applicants who fail to attend the interview will not be included in the waiting list. The School is permitted to allocate 50 discretionary places (DP) based on the Education Bureau’s set proportion for permitted DPs. Prospective students may also apply for a place in our School in the Central Allocation stage of the Secondary School Places Allocation (SSPA) System 2017 – either through the unrestricted school choices (11 places available) or the restricted school choices (94 places available). Details can be referred to the Information Leaflet on the SSPA System 2015/2017 Cycle issued by the Education Bureau. From past experience, the School receives a lot of enquiries about DP application every year. We therefore will hold School Information Session on S1 Admission on 10 December 2016 (Saturday) to brief prospective students and their parents about the school mission, our educational beliefs and the admission procedures. Below are the details of the briefing session : Date: 10 December 2016 (Saturday)
Time:First session : 9:00 am – 10:15 am
Second session : 11:30 am – 12:45 pm
Third session : 3:00 pm - 4:15 pm
Venue:School Hall, Ying Wa Girls' School
Programme: Introduction of the school, admission procedures, Questions & Answers
Registration:1. Period : 1 November 2016 - 1 December 2016
2. Method :
(i) Register online via the school website ( www.ywgs.edu.hk ), or
(ii) Register by fax to the School Office on 2858 8669 (provide name and mobile phone
number of parent, number of participants, and name of the primary school of the applicant)
3. Remarks :
(i) Each applicant may reserve no more than 3 seats.
(ii) Seats are reserved on a first-come-first-served basis.
(iii) The School will confirm the registration within 3 working days via SMS.
The School has launched an in-situ redevelopment project, supported by government funding. We are now operating in a 'decanting school' – Tack Ching Girls' Secondary School in 101 Castle Peak Road, Sham Shui Po (former decanting site for Pooi To Middle School and Diocesan Girls' School), and expect to return to the new campus in Robinson Road after completion of the project.
