As far as I know PCA-Rx is a kind of health product and a natural chelation supplement.  That's why I gave it to my son without consultation from Dr. Trodd.  For the ingredients of Ng-Rx, it contains more than 8 ingredients which are amino acids and antioxidents for neural enhancement.  As mentioned before, I'm not sure the effectiveness of PCA-Rx yet whether it works as a chelation therapy.  Obviously NG-Rx seems to work well on my son after I introduced it a few weeks ago.  I understand that the price is quite high as it is compared with other single ingredient supplement.  However, it's 8-in-one and highly concentrated, then very small amounts will be highly effective.  For more information about SMART Nutrients, you can call or email MAXAM NUTRACEUTICS directly if they have any special offer like buy 3 get 1 free.

Dr Trodd told me that my son needs another course of Diflucan   (3rd course in 2 months)
Another parent told me that I should give milk thistle to my son along with Diflucan.  Does anyone know where in Hong Kong I can buy "milk thistle"?

Hi Kawai and all.  Just found out my kid has very bad oxidative stress, even after taking the lipoceutical glutathione for 4 months.  He has the worst result out of >25 kids who got tested by Dr. Trodd.

Very depressed.

Do you mean the thiol test result?  

I got the second blood test result and was surprised to know that the result after taking glutathione was poorer than the one before taking it.   I will ask Dr James directly to see her comments.  Dr Trodd said this might be due to the high level of lead and mercury.  However, he forgot that my son's lead level was significantly reduced after taking the MB12 injection.  So I just can't believe him anymore.  My first impression is that Glutathione (or simply Wellness Glutathione) does not suitable for orally taken by my son.

On the other hand, he said the Transfer Factor may cause allergy and therefore did not recommend it to my son.  But I will prefer to try.

I read a message from someone that Transfer Factors are small messenger molecules that benefit and regulate immune response.   Studies have shown that they raise the immune I.Q by over 100%.   That is the Transfer Factor Classic one.  They have two stronger products advance and advance plus that raise the I.Q to 200% and 400% but they are not recommended for autisic kids as they over-stimulate their systems.   An added advantage of Transfer Factor is100% harmless.

You don't have to listen to Dr. Trodd if you're feeling uncomfortable to use the medication for yeast infection that he prescribed.  I've always rejected his suggestion of Dulfican and Nystatin for yeast issue as well as chelation therapy of DMSA.  According to the DAN protocol, any regressive and hyperactive behaviour, stool abnormal that may be diagnosed as yeast overgrowth.  Sometimes we should trust our instinct as we know our kids well than anyone.  I suggest you to use GSE(grapefruit seed extract) to help with your son's yeast issue.  It's relatively safe, natural and cost effective.

Is there any substitute of L-Glutathione?  Have you tried Alpha-lipoic acid which also supports the immune system and healthy liver function ? I believe that there must be a solution to sort out the problem.  I tell you something which was very strange from Dr. Trodd, I remember I've asked Trodd to prescribe ALA as a natural chelation therapy instead of L-Glutathione a few months ago, however,  Trodd ignored my request for no reason.  Currently My son has done the organic acid test and the test report showed that he needs additonal supplement of Alpha-lipoic acid.  Trodd ignored that item suggested by the Clinical Lab Director.  He probably has a good deal with the manufacturer of L-Glutathione.  I agree with HayBmum, L-Glutathione is useless for our kids.

Dear Kawai, HayBMom and Chanchanboy,

Thanks for comforting me.  HayBMom, yes, it was the Thiol test done by Dr. Jill James.  Dom did the test twice, first in May and then in Aug.  He needed to re-do the test in August because nobody told us to have him fasted for 8 hours before the blood draw.  So the result was not accurate.  In Aug he did it with the fasting, and some indicators turned our to be worse than before.

Somehow he seems not to be absorbing the L-Glutatione well.  Did anyone try the Lipoflow instead of the Wellness L-Glutathione ?  Any difference in effectiveness ?

Dr. Trodd also suspected his heavy metal may still be there.  And we have to do a hair test and another urine challenge test     

We started using Transfer Factor about a month ago.  Didn't see quite a lot of difference.  Dom has always been rather healthy despite being small for his age.

Some article claimed that oral Glutathione works well for kids but I read one article that said it does not (I can't find it again although I try to search the web today.  It was mentioned in the yahoo group before).  
I also try to find a GSE for my son but according to the a study, the effectiveness of GSE is due totally to the presence of the preservatives, and the grapefruit seed extracts have no antimicrobial effects on their own.  Visit the following website about this:

Hi Dommom,

Dennis tries the Lipoflow.  I tried it for a short while and suspend it due to the sickness of my son.

My son's first blood test result showed that his GSH/GSSG level was 27 (a bit higher than the reference range of >25) even though he had not taken any L-Glutathione yet.  However, after taking it for 6 weeks, the GSH/GSSG level dropped to 21.  Unbelievable?  Trodd said it may be due to the high lead and mercury level.  But my son's lead level and mercury level should be similar before and after taking the GSH.  Moreover, his lead level dropped significantly after taking folinic acid + MB12 injection.  So I just cannot take Trodd's advice to do the DMSA challenge test.   However, one factor that may need consideration is that the my son's second blood sample was held up for unknown reason for 3 months before sending to Dr James.  Don't know whether this affect the test result or not.

NutriBiotic GSE Liquid is the most popular and a non-drug solution which have been widely used for yeast infections.  I've visited Wellvet.com before I purchased GSE a few months ago.  Actually it's the only site which challenges the effectiveness of GSE. Anyway, please do share with us if you find any reverse evidence about GSE from kirkmans.  Actually there're some more natural yeast inhibitors such as Lauricidin, Coconut Oil, and Olive Leaf Extract.

BTW, I found something interesting on wellvet.com. I don't believe that there's a wide range of bio-treatments for animals.  It must be a profit making business as people treat their pets or animals like a family member.

P.S: Why did Dr. Trodd say that your son is not suitable to take Transfer Factor as he hasn't tried yet.
