i have ordered the professional set.
the professional set is quite different from the family set. not only some items are different type. but also the size.
actually the sizes of the "prof" set are not really very big, bcoz you can step them up to save space. moreover, actual sizes (as those mentioned in monte books) are important for teaching the kids maths concept later on, not just as toys to play with.
also, there are only 5 holes in the "cylinder" of the family set but 10 holes in the prof set. 5 holes are too easy for the kids lah !! not so meaningful in the "matching" sense leh.

Hi Littlemak,

Thanks for your advice. I change my mind. I will also buy the prof set. Just have a headache to find the space to keep those items. Are you keeping those items inside a box/cabinet or in open shelve like "kp061078"?

i am keeping them in a open bookshelf.
Ikea - "Billy" type and size is  just fine and fit the whole set. Still have a bit more space for other wooden toys too. not expensive.
have to advance-order at the shop as no more stock lah! have to wait till mid April according to the salesman.
according to monte-theory, we should keep these items in open shelf rather than carbinet with doors.
of course you may select some items for shelf and some for carbinet.
