My daughter doesn't do well in English test too. I won't blame her because she doesn't learn too much from P.1 in English (comparing to Chinese and Math). If you look at the test paper, you will see a lot of vocab. and sentence structure that they never learn (e.g. What is the weather?). Almost every page is comprehension, it's so much different from last year. I think we have to concentrate to teach them more about English Grammar and sentence structures from now on. Agree?

All of us are facing the same problem.

Hwo about to create the English environment for our children? I know YTKH set up an English Club, but it seems not working...

I shall re-enroll The British Conucil coures next semester. Poor Child!

我並不認為基顯的課程深，只是亞仔用幼稚園的方法去面對，因為懶散以致不會寫，好老實講，用口試他全都識答，但考時則不會寫，死未？
仲話人地較低分。       
真係要推北京的公差。聖誕節要集訓！

The textbook and course material doesn't change much at P2 but the test format changed to 80% comprehension (a lot different from what they do in "Grammar" and "Task Book"). Yesterday, my daugther has her 1st homework of "Read and Explore". The format of "Read and Explore" is similar to their test. I believe the kids are lack of practice. Teachers should give them this kind of exercise to do before the test so that they know the ways to handle.
To me I don't think 基顯 English 課程深 if compare with Chinese and Math. Just that the way they teach at P1 does not equip the students well to handle P2 課程. I am planning to enroll my daughter to Grammar course outside because the school doesn't teach this well.

其實基顯數學課程都幾深下ge...佢地出D課外題..有時連我地大人都要思考一輪先知點答..
舊年一年級..我仔計過一條數大約係咁問ge
哥哥有一袋糖果,分給弟弟14粒,自己吃了4粒後,兩人糖果數量才相同,哥哥原有糖果多少粒
呢條咁ge數一年級又點識答..所以我岩岩買左本文字推理俾我仔..不過5知有冇用

I also found 基顯 Math 課程深. That's why I didn't complaint about their English 課程 at P1 because the kids have to catch up with the Math, Chinese and 常識 (esp. the vocab in 常識). You're right. My daughter doesn't have time to watch TV this year. Apart from 深左同多左功課, she has badminton and jazz dance classes after school. So she arrives home at 5:15 pm everyday except Wed (no much time left for homework, dinner... therefore no additional entertainment). Now that I know there will be even more 功課 at P3, I will only let her attend the badminton class next year. Oh! Poor kid!

We are busy also. 我地冇係學校參加課外活動,但仍然每天與時間競賽。  可能我囡資質比較差,我地成日都好似係到追分咁,永遠都唔到岸。

本人真慚愧, 由於見小女常識科分數可以, 連卷也沒看, 簽了名便算, 應該是"求學不是求分數"

常識個兩條課外題，我地因爲沒有留意時事，所以都答錯了。我囡測驗前未去過昂坪，佢話早d去就識得答啦。同樣，英文我們平時都只集中係學校課本，所以以後都要多方面溫習了。
我都好贊成“求學不是求分數”，但奈何有時人又會變得現實。
