I think the catering service in RC is still very messy.  Yesterday I asked my helper to add my son’s lunch order for today & make amendment for some orders for the month.  I clarified with the canteen’s staff over the phone & my helper settled the payment with her.

Today, my helper called me after school.  She said the class teacher asked her to tell me the lunch isn’t “free of charge”.  I felt very annoying because I think she has the assumption that I try to 搏懵.  It was, of course, the mistake made by the canteen.  I know some other parents were also told they haven’t paid for the meals, in fact it wasn’t right.  I called the school at once & the receptionist apologized to me after my clarification.  
     
More to note.  A parent told me the kids can actually change their choice at lunch on the day.  I wonder what’s the point of filling the choice in the form.

Though many cases of mistakes happened over the past few days, some parents including myself were told by the kids that the food is delicious.

I think I can answer your query regarding lunch services.  I have checked with the person who was in charge of the cafeteria.  As I saw some words like
'black pepper...',  'mustard' in the menu, I have clarify with him whether the dishes are chilli, he told me that absolutely no hot dishes for the kids.  Then he told me that for P1 and P2, actually we are no need to fill the choice as the kids just need to sit at the table, then they will show them the dishes and ask them what they like.  
I have only paid the first week lunch fee for a trial to see if my son like it or not and I have ordered the whole Septmber for him today by cheque.  I suggest it is better to paid by cheque as we have record to trace.

My son had lost his cap yesterday, he said he left it during lunch in the cafeteria.  This morning I checked with the cafe, the woman told me that they have put all the lost property on the table at the back and ask me go to check.  There are few caps but I can't find my son's cap.  Then I remind my son to be careful for his belongings.  This afternoon when I pick him at school, he told me that he lost another caps again today, also in the cafe during lunch.  I went to the cafe corner to check immy, again can't find my son's cap.  The caps had already have my son's name and class on.  I wonder why it cannot return to my sons classroom.  Also, as per the time table I recieved yesterday, it stated 'no hat no play'.  I am afraid I need to buy more caps for backup.  Why the school not to design a school cap for the child?  I think this would be much better.

My girl's class still do not have timetable.  The teacher tell them that they have PE lesson on Thursday & Friday.  But she do not have PE shirt. I still cannot buy a PE shirt for her.  And she just has one Polo shirt, so it has been washed everyday.   The Uniform Co tell me that the stock will be back on 8th/9th Sept.    Hope I can buy all the items I need after that day.

She has Music and Chinese(pungtonhua) lesson yesterday.  She tell me that the teacher test the class Chinese, I think they will divide into different group later.

She tell me that she can't stay in the classroom during recess.  She do not like recess, because it is hot outside, and the classroom is cold.  It is quite uncomfortable that to stay in a cold place then go to a hot place then a cold place again.  She likes the lesson time but not the recess time.

She tell me that the lunch is delicious, too.  But the canteen is cold, too.

RC's newsletter or letter have mentioned that they wll design school cap later this year.  However, uniform supplier is very slow and always out of stock.  It might take longer time to design school cap.

Have you prepared snack bag to your son?  I always remind my son to put everything back to snack bag.  If not, you will lose everything.

I just back from uniform shop, the girl told me that school has just confirmed the order of cap three days ago.  So we should be informed by the school regarding cap order very soon.
I have found one of the cap that my son had lost from a carton box next to the reception this morning.  They have put all lost property inside the box.  
I have prepared a snack bag to my son before recieved the notice.  I think this is good a for them.
I saw Ernest this morning, why he carried the library bag?  Actually, the bag is a bit too long for the younger kid which make the child look clumsy.

My son is in P.1, he only has one P.E. lesson every week which is on Friday.  If your daughter do not have PE uniform, you can let her wear a simply round neck T-shirt with short.  The uniform company told me that since school confirmed the uniform order very late, so they do not have time to finish sufficient uniform for the children, they said school understand this and accept the child to wear their own clothing for the first three weeks.

My son has no complain about the lunch, actually he prefer to play rather than to eat.  
Everyday when I picked him up in the afternoon, his is sweating and his polo shirt is all wet at the back.
I asked him if the classroom is cold, he said not cold.
I am also afraid that he will easily get cold with wet cloth to go into the cool classroom.

Ernest insist to carry the library bag everyday.  He told me that this is good to let Mrs DeMelo put something inside.

This is good news if kids can wear school cap. I might take Ernest back to school on Monday.  Maybe we can meet at school.  

By the way, have you received "student Health Service/School dental care Service" enrolment form from RC?  I am not sure whether we should return back to school or direct to department of Health? :

Regarding to the classroom cold problem.  My daugther also told me same problem.  So, 2nd day of school I already e-mail to her teacher.  Then, her teacher also quickly answer me and settle with sloution already.  So, I think you can write e-mail to her teacher.

Yes, recess cannot stay at classroom.

I'm luckly than you. I planned to send lunch to school orginally by my maid becuase I live very close to school.   However, 1st day of school my maid call me cannot send lunch.  So, I told my maid order whole month lunch but canteen's people said that don't accept cash but they accept my maid order first and can give them cheuqe on 2nd day.  So, I don't think have a problem.  May be my maid is quite smart as she know how to ask question.

My daugther yesterday also loss her cap.  I forgot to told her checking with receiption - Ms. Chima. May be Monday.

Last year my daughter loss a PE unitform after she finish the "Takedo".  Finally also can't find it.  I don't know why they cannot take care their belonging well.

Hi RC mums,

You are all caring mothers and it is good that you shared views on areas where the school can improve. RC is a brand new school and is bound to have hiccups here and there. Let's give the school some time to put things in order and show our appreciation to the good things they have done for our children.  Are your children happy at school? Learning anything that excited them? That's the most important thing.

Actually, that is not a Chinese Lesson, they just have the test.  Textbook?  She tell me that she read story books after the test.  No timetable today...and she just remember she has PE lesson and playing game with the teacher.

My girl do not like wearing casual wear in the school, she thinks that this is not so good.  So, I think I have to wash the uniform after every school day.

My girl still do not have school diary.  So that's a good idea to write email for comunicating but how do you know the email address of the teacher?  I have written email to the school before, it seems that no one reply me.

SPI school bags are heavy n from Y5 they need to put a lap-top in it, so must have strong support.

Mrs DeMelo was my son's class teacher last year. She is great. both my son and I love her so much. She's very nice and energetic. I wrote her many times through emails and she responded promptly and positively everytime.

Where do you live ? how come the school bus take so long to get to school ? 1.5 hours to school and 2 hours home.. Too long for kid to travel after a long day in school...

You can just return the forms to the class, Mrs DeMelo will collect them and send to altogether to the Admin office.
