Totally agree with you. We should admit the syllabus of HK eduaction system was unchanged for the previous 20-30 yrs. As a mother, I cannot accept our children to study hard under pressure but learn outdated or meaningless knowledge. Eg, chinese and western History. I always wonder how good it provides to the ever-growing world and to the students. But they require tons of time to spend on. Why it cannot be studied under General Readings, just like the Cinderalla, Shakespare's King Lear, etc. Or even under the subject of Politics, to study how the leaders' characters will effect their success or failure of their kingdom, etc. Pls the experts think about on the syllabus. Make it more creative but can stimulate the thinking. Make it less pressure but can stimulate their learning attitudes. If a student spends time on reading healthy books for leisure rather than watching TV, ICQ or playing net games, this means the student has created his good whole life learning attitude rather than relax to avoid pressure.
The system may / may not change but depends on which new system to be discussed. I am afraid it will change even worse than before. Ever changing will make people (Teachers, Parents, Students) difficult to adapt, then tradegy may be the result. |
