我同意以上這一點.
就算有好崇高的教學理念的學校,都未必全部的老師都有愛心
能否遇上好老師,都好睇孩子的運氣.
好多都係扮出來的,特別係 interview 的時候.
如果真係遇上好老師,而且又有熱誠的老師,
咁你真係行運,是孩子的福氣.
有熱誠係包含住不計較地付出,是扮不來的.
可以話十中無一,無論在任何學校.

My daughter is studying in N1 now.  I can't agree that SC runs a school like a factory in mass production.   After my observation, since SC gets a quite large no of students every year, SC will group the same type of students in a class.  I check that the level of students (age, english standard) and its background (living in the same district), SC will group them into a class.  Due to BK, we can keep track what our kids learning everyday.  After comparing with the parents, we can see that SC treats elder kids and younger kids totally different.  They will arrange easier task for younger kids for better development while teaching/assigning elder kids for more complicated words/homeworks.  It is totally tailor-made for our kids.  

In N1, teachers will prepare a topic for discussion every week. Just like last week, we had to find the photos of fireman.  Some elder kids were informed since last Friday because they got better memory.  For younger kids, teachers told the kids one day before so that kids could remember what teachers' said.

Last year when we went to interviews, I was also unhappy about the cool faces of 'some' teachers, small classrooms and narrow stairs.  I was also worried whether it is a right choice for my daughter.
Now so far I am satisfied with this school.

I would like to share some points with all new comers.
(1) If you are living too far away from SC, please re-consider it.  It is really too exhausted for kids when going back and forth to the school.
(2) Even though SC is famous, I think it has NO CONNECTION to any famous schools.  I choose it just because it really has its own ability to teach the kids.
(3) ENGLISH - not as much as my daughter was studying in an international school.  Certainly it is fair enough when comparing to general kindergartens.

thanks for sharing your view. perhaps we parents who are not in favour of SC may be a bit unfair to judge SC as our kids are not studying here. However, that's the way how we parents choose kindergartens now as there is really limited information available for parents from SC or many other schools.  We can only judge bu our own impressions.
I am sure it is suitable for some kids & most parents are satisfied with it . Otherwise, they will all change schools for their kids.
BUT what i am even more sure is that there are many good schools but just if they are perceived as good to you & your kid is another issue.
We come to the BK forums to exchange idea & there's definitely all kinds of different comments & sharing based on their comments. Otherwise, what's the points of coming here if all say something is good like advertisement?
I think every BK mums can make their own judgements whether others' comments should be taken into condsideration or not.

can you share a bit more about the Chinese teaching method of SC? What about PTH ? Will they have 3 classes per week as from K2?? What about K1?

Acc to your estimate, how much do they put on Chinese teaching?

Is that still valid that all classes in K2 are in the afternoon?

我昨天帶個仔去interview時見d先生都好nice呀! 冇其他媽咪咁話黑口黑面. 可能depends on個先生啦!

我個仔interview完後個先生仲讚了他兩句,等我仲以為個仔有"行"tim. 但見jychan話個先生話下個星期就會有通知, 我諗我個仔都係fail多啦. 因為個先生同我話要12月底先有result.

其他媽咪, 個先生又點同你講呢?

係呢, 原來SC學費要$3XXX, 都唔平喎.

話時話, SC畢業我男仔多數會去邊間小學呢?

yes..I totally agree with you...but I just want to response that it is not factory-like with my own stand points.  Certainly different voices here are most welcome.

Thanks for your understanding. There must be reasons why SC becomes such a popular school. Just this may not be a cup of tea for some people. Otherwise, it will be "BIG WOK" as the queue for interview will be even longer & it may have to open more branch.   

Hope every mum can really find the right cup of tea for her kid.

SC will teach CHI/ENG in a ratio of 50/50% as per my observation.  I don't understand why some parents said SC put more emphasis on English.  Our kids have CHI/ENG song books, homeworks, teachers equally.  We parents can talk to kids' CHI or ENG teachers according to your preference.  

Regarding PTH, I saw a specific teacher at the school on the first day.  If my memory is correct, the madarin teacher will start to teach the kids once per week in second term of N1.

In K1, all classes will have CHI/ENG class teachers.
In K2 AND K3, there is only a CHI class teacher.

In K1 -> you may choose am or pm class
In K2 -> pm class only
In K3 -> am class only
(It is quite strange indeed)

yes... So far I only can say SC is good but NOT THE BEST... (no schools can be the best in my mind too)Which school will be your choice?  May you share and why?

我囡囡都係今年讀n班。其實自從去年interview，都覺得sc的老師好nice，特別interview時，大小姐唔肯做動作題，我就不斷鼓勵，反而老師話唔緊要，仲好親切地和囡囡傾計。in 完後，我雖無把握一定收，但對學校好滿意。到復活節參觀時，囡囡走咗去睇一位嬸嬸洗玩具，那位嬸嬸一見到囡囡，就好親切同佢傾計。在我的經驗，完全感受唔到似工廠﹗sc人數雖多，但好強調家長與老師聯絡，最感動是早上留了口訊，班主任真的會不繼聯絡我，直至當天找到我為止，實在
  
我不知道囡囡會升那一間小學，但至少現在感到滿意，借機會表揚一下sc﹗謝謝大家聽我分享﹗

我有兩個朋友的小孩讀sc,一個讀得非常輕鬆和開心,另一個讀得好辛苦,k3每日要溫習及做功課最少一個鐘,成日同個仔衝突......

而家自己同個女揀既雖然唔係一等一既學校,但係起碼肯定老師照顧足夠(師生比例1:10)和壓力唔太,可以俾自己鬆一口氣!

有同事同我講佢個仔在英華中學年年考第一,成日想考入喇沙,終於佢阿媽日日去求father,終於都入左讀,仲讀得好開心添!
所以如果遲d去考小學,我一定會interview多幾間,多d了解自己和小朋友的需要!

As SC only release the result in end Dec, it is very tough for me to decide if I pay for the reservation fee for other school.  Headache!!

I just want to say that all these schools are good but it doesn't mean that it must be good for our kids.  We must do more surveys or visit the school personally for more observation.
