OK.  Some basic stuff to learn :-

1. home address & tel no.
2. school & class
3. name of parents
4. brother & sister - names, school, class
5. interest in music ? do you enjoy playing piano/violin ?
6. hobbies
7. a picture to draw and describe to the principal.

Very basic for MRPS of SPCC will do.  

Most important preparation : the child is confident and happy, willing to talk.

Have you visited the school on the open day ? refresh his memory on that by seeing pictures on the spcc web site.  it will do if your child wants to be there too !!

I have not recevied the letter yet and will call to check if not receive it by middle of next week.

My daughter is also a young girl, but I will ask her to perform her best in the interview.

Although it's very difficult to get the admission. But I do think it's a good chance to show her about competition in this world. She will gain a valuable experience in her life.

I think the interview arrangement has nothing related to either original/download forms or young child, maybe it is just by random because my application form is a downloaded one and my daughter was born in Dec-2000, but my interview date is 8/10 afternoon. So, the interview date cannot reflect anything about the chance of admission.

Therefore, everybody has the chance if the child performs well.  Good luck for everyone here !

今天我家小朋友已面試完了!我將過程跟大家分享一下吧!
首先你一定是將學校要的資料給他們!然後她會帶小朋友入一間教室裡!我想裡面應該是你們說的主任了吧!我也不知她進去後做些什麼?只是知道而後會一個個小朋友被再帶去見校長然後老師會拿剛剛在教室畫的一付畫附上你給的文件中!而校長見小朋友時一個進去一個會在外面跟先生一起做著等!約見時間不一.有些久一點!但平均事5分鐘吧!我覺得!之後我問過女兒校長跟她說些什麼!她只是說問名字.幾歲.妹妹名字家住哪?這些問題吧!我也不知她說的對不對!因為我看到好多小朋友都非常定!真是有大將之風!所以我都覺得沒希望啦!但我覺得真的是要合校長緣吧!祝大家幸運!願主看顧大家! :wink:

I know someone admitted without the father attending the first interview.  But the Headmistress may ask if your father and mother brought you there, and if not, why one of the parent is absent.  So prepare the child for the question.

All interviews last almost the same about 5 min.  What are those most important criterias for the headmistress to make her decision for admission ? Really wondering how well those children performed.

1) family background(how rich you are)
2) parents occupation (professional, director,mother is housewife, )
3) Children from famous kindergarten(like CCKG, Victoria, St.Cat)
4) Children performance

Actually, the kid will be assessed when he/she has stepped into the playroom. The teachers inside the room will observe the behaviour of the students. Some of them may stay there for 30-45 min before meeting the principal.

Some of the kids may be questioned for 5-10 min by principal. Of course, if your profolio is very rich in contents, she will ask many questions. e.g. where do you take the piano class, gymnatic class.... who brings you to school every day..... What transport do you take to school.....some concern the family 's matter..... also, some positive comment on student's artwork.

The principal actually focus on the student's ability rather than family background. Of couse, she will also consider whether the family can nuture the kid as the same mission as school. Anyway, the questions to be asked parents will be hold  at the 2nd interview e.g. parent-child reading time, who take care the kids, how do you arrange his/her  activities &...... Some of the parents are not very rich, the school still encourage the parents to obtain the remission from school fund.

One of the reason for school to change to DSS as it wants to accept more good students and maintain the high standard of SPCC. (not central allocated by gov't) The school board has its own ways to obtain more funding from donator.

It's worth to send the kids to interview since it does not 100% depend on luck. Although the seat is very limited, it's good to look around the school.    If your kid get the place in SPCC, you will find it's worth to pay $48,000 per year compare with others private school. (Don't forget the gov't also pay some certain subsidies too.)

- 4 Native english teachers in the Oral Class
- 2 teachers for Chinese & English Classes
- Free for 2 school activities...e.g. Eng drama... computor..... drawing.
- additional booklets & ex books given to students without charges.
- Newly built campus will be established in 2007.

Why not to take a chance?

我認為你最好別遲到!因為那天我都是剛剛好的時間到達!只見收文件的人以黑頭黑面的收我的資料!跟著收完後一堆家長望住你都怪不好意思的!但我覺得除非你並不想考這學校不然勒就別冒險!因為第一關是主任耶!還是給點面子好點喔!

Me too.

I handled the application on the second day.
It seems that all those have relationship would interview first and stand high chance. I have an inferior feeling of this prestigous school for such badly treated and inferior arrangment.

How can my son struggle for the no-relationship 17 seats? Would anyone tell me that those with deferred interview date in fact have no chance at all!
