Just share my experience of B-12 injection with you.  My child has tried 4 injections and no significant change has been observed.  We just stop it and undesirable effects come.  After stopping B-12 for one week, my child starts to 惾笑, 刮o野, 聞o野 & does not answer me immediately.  He had these behaviours before the biological treatment (mild & occasional) and had never behaved like this after the treatment.  Biological treatment is effective to my child.  However, the side effect of B-12 breaks my heart.  I just hope that he will resume to normal sometime later.....  I will not try B-12 again.....         :cry:

I just wonder why my child behaves regressively.  I just hope that this is the consequence of terminating B-12.  If this is the fact, B-12 may be for life.  This is the worst scenario that no parents would like to face......

That's why we're hesitate to start the injection as we don't want our son to have injection for life.

I guess your son's case is mainly because of termination B-12. You know once the bio pathway is altered, it takes time to adjust it.

One of our friends' son also had B-12 injection, he became very difficult right after the injection. But the side effect disappeared serveral days after they stopped the injection. So just wait and see, otherwise you may consult Dr. Trodd.

BTW, my son had finished his first week's AIT. He becomes even more sensitive to sound and hyperactive after the first three sessions. We understand that is the common phenomenon in between the training. Hope he will be better when the whole programme completes.

Is AIT just suitable for children who are sensitive to sound?  Hearsay that music therapy is good for our children.  Is AIT similar to music therapy?  I may try music therapy in this summer.

They are different training. Music therapy requires active participation of attendees.

For AIT, I here quoted the following from Pang's (http://www.musictherapy.com.hk/Home/Ch.AIT.htm):
"AIT  is originated by a French ENT doctor Guy Berard.  It is the listening of filtered and modulated music to treat auditory processing disorder as well as stimulate brain activity so as to achieve behavioral and emotional improvements. "

"The Berard AIT method has been successfully used to help individuals with attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD), autism, dyslexia, hyperactivity, learning disabilities (LD), language impairments, pervasive developmental disorders (PDD), central auditory processing disorder (CAPD), attention deficit disorder (ADD), and depression. In the large majority of Dr. Berard's cases, AIT significantly reduced some or many of the handicaps associated with the disorders listed above."

Yes, my son is sensitive to sound, visual, smell, taste & touch, like most autistic children.  He felt uneasy or even screamed in noisy areas before the age of 5.  After 5 he won't scream but still felt annoyed.   His attention is poor in a big class.

Before taking AIT, the kid need to have an auditory assessment to check whether they need it or not

As I have mentioned in the other forum, I can't tell whether AIT is effective or not.  But my son's attention span is improving in these few years. (He took the AIT at the age of 11.)  The improvement  may be due to AIT plus age growth plus other treatment.

My son is not sensitive to sound at all. However, when it is very very noisy, e.g. construction sound or sound of digging machine, ....,  he may use his hands to cover his ears; but he does not feel uncomfortable.  

For the AIT, how many months / years did your child take?  I just want to try if it is possible...  Thanks a lot.

My son has exactly the same problem. He's always side-tracked by any "insignificant" sounds. (and he has perfect pitch). Hope the AIT can really help him.

For the AIT, how many months / years did your child take? I just want to try if it is possible...

只須take一個療程，每個療程10堂，一星期兩堂（如果沒有記錯），即五個星期便完成。如要重複療程，則要起碼一年後。療程只能重複一次。
