我lum 住將佢學校大考範圍溫一次, 剛剛這個week 考完試, 繼續同佢keep 住, 同埋同佢看多d中英圖書,亞女學野快, 忘記重快, 重有同佢玩多d, 等佢保持有燦爛笑容.

問過d 師姐原來以往小一入學是沒有的安排, 我自已認為可能學校今年首年接龍, 所以有新計劃, 都是好的, 可見學校都是積極進取型

St. Mary do not require special school bag.

If you intend to buy lunch box from school (Munch), they will give you a set of spoon and fork as a present.  Of course you can also bring your own (with Hello Kitty's etc).  They do not allow you to bring chopsticks.

One more thing to all P1 parent.  NO metal pencil box.  They said that metal pencil will create noise.

Relax, there is a long period (around 2 months) in P1 for your kids to get use to the environment.  You will find things very easy (a lot easier than K3) at first and they will only start full day after a few weeks.

Useful info. Thank you for sharing. One more question, I'm not quite sure what's the meaning of "they will only start full day after a few weeks". Is it means, at the beginning, the P1 girls can leave the school at noon? If so, how about the school bus? Or the parents should arrange by themselves? Thank you.

I think there's no need to take the assessement so seriously as an entrance examination, or whatsoever. I don't think the St Mary's school authorities' intention of assessment is to group selective students into "elite" class and inferior ones to lower classes at this early stage of primary 1.  Being a 一條龍 school/college now, I believe St.Mary's can plan her curriculum on a long term basis and to assist new students (from different background and academic levels) to adapt to the new environment.  

Anyway, I think the headmistress will give some explanation on the need for assessment on 23/7. Just take it easy.

As to the P1 assessment, agree with your opinion. On the website of SMCS in hkecity, one of its strategy of handling differentiation of students is 「及早識別和輔導有學習困難的小一學生」計劃加以照顧支援. It's right. Take it easy, P1 parents.
