Did your friend tell you why he has the 3rd interview, or did the school tell him why? From the 2nd letter that the applicant received stated that the interview result will be notified in the 3rd week of this month. Is your friend's son need to play any musical instrument or sports in the 3rd interview?

I've just received a call from my friend. One of her son classmates had received a phone call from DBSPD yesterday confirming a place offer to her son. Did any other member here get the call?

I call school today. My son has another luck again ! He got a seat. At the same time, I also got confirmation letter from school.

my son only on waiting list, so i think my plan is if my kid can catch up La Salle i  will take my son to La salle ,if he can not , he will go to Logos

even my son can not go to DBSPD, we can also can share

Have you checked with them what is the number of your son on the waiting list ? I really want my son can have chance to be your son's classmate because I trust your son is also a very good boy that want to share everything with others as you. Then, my son can learn more. Anyway, please update me.

Because he is not student from famous school like St. Catherine.

Because we are not rich to donate the money in future.  Not many student got allowance from school.

Becasue DBSPD has made decision before interview to offer place for interview time>5 min.(Diff. attitude to parents)

Because No testing of ENG. ability for the boy? How to choose student?

Because of UNFAIR

The selection is surely not 100% fair, for there is no perfectly fair system in this world. However, it may not be as unfair as you think.

I don't think the reasons you speculated are that important. If the reasons you raised are valid, such as not from St. Catherine, not rich, no testing of Eng. ability etc, then why was your son offered a 2nd interview? These facts had been the same throughout both interviews, am I right?

Everyone has the freedom of speech, but I advise you just keep the blame among the adults. You should at least NOT to convey your speculated reasons to your son.

Not being admitted to DBSPD is not the end of the day. But, if you tell your son that his can't enter DBSPD because he is not from St. Catherine, his parents are not rich etc, then I think it's really the end of your son, because HE WILL BLAME YOU!

my son is also studying in st. cat.  He is also recieved the seat from Ying Wa Primary School in the 1st allocation.  So I need to give up the seats first and register in DBSPD later.

去年，有一家小學有差不多百名學生插班入小拔，我識得其中幾個，成績中上，其他技能例如田徑、游水過得去，不是全港最Top那些。可見，小拔收生之主要考慮，還是成績。

　　我小兒也被reject了,不過其實未放榜就已經知道了,interview那天我沒有去(原本想去支持下的,但真的有事不能去),他們回來後我問老公,他的response是:a mess!所以沒有幻想會有奇蹟.我很了解我的兒子,他雖然有些幾搶手的獎項傍身(我想這是有2nd in的原因),但他的行為上仍很幼稚,DBS有成千幾人選,一定會揀好outstanding的孩子,我相信只有早慧的孩子可以脫穎而出.
　　可能你看到自己的孩子很出色仍落選所以很不開心,雖然落選了,但他仍然是出色的呀,這點才是最重要的.
　　雖然我兩次interview都沒有去,但聽老公說也感到在interview只能考到孩子的應對和反應的能力,所以proifle好重要,讀那間幼稚園都好重要,如果孩子樣樣都叻,卻沒有認可的証明,咁就真係好蝕底,第日要考此校的父母真的要好好準備了.
　　至於公平與否,我認為很難定下標準,我反而覺得是條件的比併,孩子的條件,父母的條件,我相信學校都會以孩子為先,如果孩子水準一樣,便真的要看父母和背景了.
