I think the selection is based on luck, parent background, interview performance, interviewer subjective judgement, age and many other factors we don't know

tell you what, my friend & his spouse is professional, listed company manager, live in famous middle class estate, kid can answer all questions and sing song, very small kid but waiting list only

two years ago, my another friend & his spouse is professional, listed company maager, also live in famous middel class estate, kid also can answer all questions, don't know have sing song or not, small kid, can't go to toilet herself and thus fail (even not waiting list)

my case, small kid, not sing song, can't go to toilet, similar background, can answer most questions, but accepted, do you feel strange ? even us still unbelievable!
so i think the interviewer personal perference play a major role instead

學校在面試時並沒有要求我的女女唱歌.

面試時, 學校問我的女女有沒有食物敏感, 有甚麼東西要學校留意. 那時我己經知學校一定會收我的女女, 因為呢類問題只可以問自己的學生, 唔可以問applicant架.

我相信只是一個緣份而已. 大家不用執著是否有沒有唱歌, 是否要謝謝, 是否公司高層, 是否有錢等等. 正如去求職, 每個老闆都有佢自己的喜好,唔係最叻個個一定請.

依家有咁多老師, 自有佢地不同喜好, 那麼, 那個面試老師跟你的兒女表現相近, 就是他們的緣份了.

Dear moms,

I agreed with 786 and HuiTung.  

My daughter also accepted by Kentville am class, Kent Road.  Her performance is good but didn't sing a song.  But she always say Hello, good morning and goodbye when needed.

My sister's son also accepted from waiting list last year.  So don't worry moms.

By the way, I also white collar jar.

我也有類似情況, 老師問我小朋友的病歷, 都是一些interview不尋常的問題, 而門口那位老師也只叫我仔拿粒糖便可以了.

Agreed  with 786.

任何一個面試(見工又好, 見幼稚園又好), 都唔會事先list out 一個客觀的標準.  一切視乎緣份, 盡了力就已經足夠了, 不必要強求

I agreed that the interviewer has her own preference.........just like a job interview, most of the cases, people will judge you for the first minute.

我個女面試那天老師問她姓名佢只是笑但不答, 問佢識不識唱歌, 佢話識但又不唱. 其他問題就答, 連老師送了玩具給她只是笑又沒有say thank you, 連我都不明白她們收生標準, 可能是好彩啦! 所以我相信你的女兒盡了力就得, 不好給自己及她太大壓力! :wink:
