if at this stage, you guys already have soooo many discontent towards the school ... how can you manage to cooperate with the school after school starts? Try to think of the positive side of the school, or else your kids will suffer too as you always think the school is not doing good enough.

Of course another choice is not to study in this school. But if you've planned to stay, then really have to appreciate it more.

everyone, also牛精仔,   pls no worry, i'm just saying own opinion and also i can declare i'm of course not their staff.  If i'm looking for job, it is better to look for a job in a farmous Primary school, have marks plus.  My son is in K2, so may be i have a deeper news about that school then all of you.      Of course for each parent, they may have their own expectation and different things want to get from school.    York is really commercial, because it is not sponsored by Gov coupon.  So you can treat it a real Private School.   My feeling is that the school fee paid is only for rental of premies and staff cost.  All others need to paid by a separate bill which you'll receive from time to time; such as outgoing activities fee/ birthday party/ exercises/ stationeries/ uniform/ book / snack etc etc., so you can make a calculation on how many misc fees you need to paid.     My son joins their full time lessons, so my school fee is double then normal.  But even heavy burden, he still can take up and i can found his improvement thru his studies.

我之前都有迦南全日班 & 德信am班在手, 不過最後都只係 york 交左留位費, 因為我唔想阻住其他人, 我個囡而家係德福返緊n班, 而家 york 攪到咁麻煩, 而德福又接受我個囡9月返k1, 真係攪到我心大心細, 唔知返 york 好定係繼續留係德福好.

其實除左維記, 我仲放棄左德福am國際班... 同你一樣, 又係唔想阻住其他人...當日收到德福offer, 我都有上黎問大家意見york好定德福好, 結果情況都幾一面倒...最後揀左york。

I agree with your views.

Some parents pay great attention on "教育理念", and try to choose a kindergarten that match with their own theory.  However, running a school is like running a business nowadays, even for those schools that are operated by NGOs, since every school want to look for as many students as they can.  

Instead of taking reference to the school head's briefing (usually not very reliable), it may be more practical and effective to listen to comments from other parents, with kids studying in that school.  Besides, the choice from parents may not be the best to the kid, even all sort of information has been taken into account.

For myself, I studied in a traditional English girl school from K1 to F.7, which my mom thought it was the best to me, some 30 years ago.  However, I disliked the school, the school head in particular, while I had to study in that school for 15 years......  

So, parents, don't worry, be happy!

我選學校, 校舍考慮都算三甲之一架! 頭一位係升小學, 考直資/私校成功比例, 第二就係師資, 第三就係校舍啦。

牛精仔, 一直以來見你都係算比較理性討論既人, 今次你開得post, 絕對係忍無可忍之下而開。

比著我係你, 我會而家係咁打電話, 問下其他學校有冇位, 因為近來都開始"落大訂", 應該有人會give up學位。好英文既不只佢一間, 師資亦不見得佢特別好, so...?

好耐無上bk，點知york又發生咗咁多嘢。話咁快囝囝巳U3學期尾，回想這3年，YORK真的教曉小兒很多東西，一間學校好與壞，只有用家才知道，在YORK這3年囝囝同我都認識了很多好好的老師、家長及同學。家長們的思想相近，大家都有包容及關懷的心，亙相幫助，在這所所謂商業化的學校裏實屬難得！記起N1的時候，班主任MS YU常常來電謂問，使我不安的心情放下不少(囝囝N1時，我未搬，仲住屯門，很担心囝囝)，L2要選多元智能班的時候亦給了很多見解，L2班主任MS FAN教曉小兒要守規矩及紀律，要有良好的自理能力，同學們要相親相愛。現在U3學懂了謙虛，欣賞別人，慢慢進入另一個階段(小學)。最近一個月，我帶囝囝到外邊上小一適應班，當中老師安排每次都有30分鐘的觀課活動(當然不會給小朋友知)我發現小兒比起其他小朋友的專注力强，而又主動幫助其他有需要協助的同學，抄寫黑板及手冊都很快而準，連其他小朋友的家長也問他在那所幼稚園讀書，我想這絕對是學校的功勞，也是我意外的收穫。(PS小兒在班上是搗蛋分子，食飯又慢，估晤到佢出去竟然有好表現)一間私校要維持水準及質素，$$是不能缺少的！只要付出同回報成正比，相信很多人都不介意！題外話，早排收到學校通告話約道舊校舍會改建成約克幼兒園，咁晤係所有新生都会去金巴倫道49&51咩？

agree with you, 英文好不止york一間,

如果大家無著落, 可以向其他學校查詢, 看看可否排後補位, 相信6-7月很多學校會有位放出黎.

Hello parents,
My daughter has been studying in York for almost 1 year now . I too had a lots of doubt like everyone of u 1 year ago. I was tricked by the teachers there telling me there will be foreign teacher teaching english and they did held a lot of extra-paid activities for children to join throughout this year.
After this year, although my daughter was not taught by foreign teachers , she strangely can have english conversation with me or the foreign teacher at the Trinity Class.
I did not join any of their activities and her class teacher is still nice and patience with her.
The most important thing every parents should ask is what u want your child to be and  to learn from kindergarten?
If u want your child to speak good english and study under medium pressure environment. I believe York suits u.  But if u want balance between mandarin/ chinese and english, i suggest u should seek other kindergarten.To be honest, my daughter's chinese standard is worst than children from other kindergarten.
And i once gave up offer from True Light to pick York because i want my daughter to have better english skill.And I don;t regret of my decision.

they did teach chinese at school but the percentage is not as much as english.
