I'm still waiting for any update from ESF.  I applied for abacus... Time really goes by slowly!!!!

It is so confusing that there are different policies in each ESF kindergarten and there are also different kinds of letters.

i applied SW ESF but i didn't receive any letter at all..would there be play visit also with SW ESF..it's so confusing now..

I called SW ESF this morning, they said they had sent out the letter this week, so probably we will receive it today or next Mon the latest..  Besides, she said some parents may receive the acceptance letters and some may need to attend the "play visit" for their further selection.

Cat 1都on waiting list,有點奇怪！！那是否代表今年apply abacus的 有很多cat 1呢？那即是代表Cat 2就更加無機會，是嗎？

hi mom,

I got play date invitation for my daughter I guess it's b/c of sbling priority. It mentions in the letter that "after the play visit....we may be in a position to offer your child a place in the kidnergarten..." somthing like that.

It's the same wordings as my elder one joined in 2008. so I guess it's pretty secure to have a place in the kindergarten unless my younger one is behaving extrememly bad.

I just wonder if they have the wordings of ".....Contracts will be issued at this point to SUCCESSFUL applicants...." in the letter of last year?
It seems to all of us that some of the applicants may be UNSUCCESSFUL! Right?

As some parents in the past years said that ESF mailed the contract together with the letter of visit to the parents instead of issuing it after the visit.

Would you please verify this?

just got a call from KCIS and they are going to offer a place for my son and need to pay the deposit by Dec 17...however, am still waiting for Abacus.  Hope it will come soon....as ESF is my target.

as far as I can remember, I received the contract right after the presentation (while my elder one was playing at the classroom). I notice that they do have quite different policies among different school, especially the wordings used in the interview letter. My elder one will be attending interview for primary school , and I noticed that there are different wordings used even they are in the same category with every other criteria being the same.
For kindergarten one, I believe among the cat 2 applicants, it will be done in a random order unless you have something to be prioritized.

Finally received the letter today.  Our "play visit" is on 12thJan.

my elder is in K2 also but in those days, there is no need for 'play visit' and they simply sent us the 'offer letter' and after the school visit (by adult only), they gave us the contract.  I am confused as to why your elder attended the school visit?

Hello CJS mom,

The group for my elder one's visit consisted of at least 30 parents, and there were a few rounds of play visits in year 2008. So no need to be confused, just different policies at different schools.

Thanks, bu.  This is somewhat a good news for me, as I think my kid is in cat 2 as well.  I do hope that I can see you at the play visit day.  If I get the invite (hopefully), I will let you know! :)

You applied Abacus?  My kid applied WKS, I think there are less cat 1 applicant in WKS in compare with Abacus.
Check the mailbox, maybe you'll get the letter tomorrow!!
