agree with u too! Frankly, the procedure of Camoes was much better than DBSPD. At least parents didn't have to queue under the sun for waiting our kids.

My son's version:
1) listened to the story about racing cars in different colors.
2) rearranged the cards in the right order (after I read the posts on BK, I verified it with him; he didn't tell me in the first place)
3) answered the questions like who wins the game, who is faster than whom, who is slower, who doesn't win the game, etc.  They could point at the picture of the cars for the answers.
4) while coloring the pictures, students (one by one?) were arranged to read sentences in Eng and Chinese.  My son said he read most of the Eng words and tried to pronounce the difficult words by phonics.  And then The teacher taught him how to pronounce a word correctly.  As for Chinese, he missed more.

I found something really funny yesterday when I was filling in the questionaire.  A mommy next to me, as she was writing, she used the file to cover her questionaire carefully.  And she had a pile of paper that she was copying from them......... (she was hiding those paper in her handbag and looked down from it and then copied)......... Oh, come on, that was what kids did when they were in primary schools and that questionaire was optional............

Obviously the questions were leaked out after Sat sessions...

I don't think the answers will make a big difference if the kid is not the type the school is looking for.

The atmosphere in the waiting room was really funny too, we were like taking an exam seating apart from each other and the two girls walking around were like the examiners! Everyone was so quiet, and some people turned their questionnaire upside down on the table after they were done

But honestly speaking, I do prefer them to take into consideration the answers from the questionnair as that would reflect directly how the parents feel about the school and their chidren's primary education, which would be very helpful in selecting parents that understand and match with the school's principles and missions. It is also easier, and less biased, for us parents to express our thoughts in writing than in face-to-face interviews. I particularly feel that getting what's in the parents' minds are even more important that the children's performance in a short interview, as kids can be quite unstable but only we parents should know exactly what to look for for our kids!!

it might be my wife....
she did call me and consult me what should be put on the answer.
she trusted me to reform our answer to be a more positive way (half empty or half full method). and i agreed that she should not be the only one who enjoy such favour ....
it would be a good occasion to express what you are really waiting for the school and what school could count on your support.

非常同意, no need to wait under the sun shining 15 min. like that in DBS.  (and I suspect they already classified the groups).

For PLK-CTSL, I think it will be more easy if your child really loves English and reading.

My son said the interview including
coloring of a bird.
then playing an audio about bird, and teacher asked 3 questions, he only knew 2.

if PLK kindergarten, with additional 10 points, bigger chance for 2nd interview.

For the questionaire, I think they will take it for reference if you write the ref. no.

Hi Bowling68, I totally agreed with you that we shouldn't be waiting under the sun for so long during interview.  I have been to some very prestigious traditional schools like DBS/St. Paul's Boys for interviews.  Those schools just asked parents to wait outside and endure the heat.  No seats no shelter even though they have ample space inside the schools.  At least for PLK and HKUGP, they provided us a nice and comfortable place to wait for our kids.  This is the minimum respect to the parents or human beings.  We respect these schools so we applied for them for the benefits of our kids.  The school should not be that "big nose".  This is just what I and my husband thought of those popular and traditional schools.  Or maybe we are too sensitive?  We are actually very impressed by the arrangements of PLK and HKUGP.  They respect and sympathize the parents even though they know they are extremely popular.  They are trying their best to make the whole interview process more comfortable for both kids and parents.
