It's technically more difficult the younger the kid to go for G.5 theory exam.  My son took his exam exactly on his 8th birthday, so he was 7 when he was learning it.  I'm happy enough that he got 78.  He got only 2 out of 10 in 4(b).  Now we're waiting for his G.4 recorder result which he took on Nov 10.

For young kids, I would say studying the extract and answering questions is the most difficult.  They need to be very careful in reading and understanding the questions.  This has got to do with 理解力.  Whereas for  記憶力, I guess it should be the musical terms and spelling of technical words.
Since my son is studying in an international school, he has never ever sat for a proper written exam, not to mention an open one.  I asked him to practise writing his candidate no. and seat no. on the label (in case he will make these kind of stupid mistakes).  I have to brief him to stay in his seat, don't look around, don't stand up, and don't chase after a dropped eraser!

My son 11 yrs old, G.6 only got 117.

What instrument is he doing?   The score has nothing to do with the age.  Other factors are more important, e.g. the teacher's teaching, both the teacher and the student's effort, time spent on the practice, the student's performance on the day of exam, the student's interest in the instrument, the student's talent............

Yes, I agree that my son doesn't have interest and talent. You're right.

117 is not bad wor, three points to go for merit. Passing grade 6 is an achievement. If you say your son is not talented,  then we should more appreciate on his hard work for the preparation, bearing in mind that he is also quite busy for school work. Are you demanding too much ?
