Re: SIS / ISF
I know there is a 'die-hard anti-SIS' here. Although he said he will not respond to this thread any more, I have to clarify two points:
1.Currently, SIS has only 2 classes of P6 and those who want to stay with SIS will move up to Sec1. It will be a through-train for SIS students and more classes will be opening up to cater up the appropriate number of P6 SIS students.
2. It is true that I didn't get any detailed statistics about that most of SIS students manage to get a place in other IS like GSIS, CIS, ESF and other 'elite local schools'. But, I can give this comment just base on common sense and from logical deduction just like what the 'die-hard anti-SIS' did. In the past, when SIS did not have its secondary section, student numbers start to decline from P4. Some students go back to their own home country, the others leave SIS for other 'elite local or international schools' with secondary section. I make this assumption because each student will have a time span of 3 years to get into these 'elite'schools (I think SIS students' parent will not choose 'ordinary' school when they still have the chance to get into 'elite' school!) In P6, usually 1 or 2 classes remain. These students may be not as lucky or their parents are 'die-hard SIS fans'. However, they still have the golden chance to get into those elite IS (eg. GSIS) at year 7 just as discribed by the 'die-hard anti-SIS'. Therefore, most of the SIS students will have a place in those 'elite' schools.
We are not living in a perfect world. Pressure is inevitable. Appropriate amount of pressure will increase blood adrenalin level and improve performance. Looking for a school with virtually no pressure will be unrealistic.
I know the 'die-hard anti-SIS' will not respond to this thread any more, but I hope he can have the patience to read through this.
P.S. A gentle reminder for those BK members who seek advice from the 'die-hard anti-SIS' - he always says: 'Who ask you to trust what I have posted ?'
