我稔住接咗仔仔直接去餐廳，我隻佬果日請咗假陪仔仔小一班畢業禮，佢會幫我帶仔仔出去不過唔join我地，所以好可能我個賓賓唔會嚟。

Dear all,
I have a silly question to ask moms with children going to P.1 next month.  Do your children reach the age requirement in speech therapist's assessment?  Here are some areas I want to know whether your children can manage or not...
(1) Narrate daily events.
(2) Story telling.
(3) Narrative comprehension i.e. can answer questions like who, when, what, why & how after listening to a story.
(4) Understand and follow commands with more than 4 elements.
(5) Problem solving technique e.g. If ....., then ......
(6) Prediction technique.
(7) Read the mind of the others.
(8) 猜迷語.
(9) Compliance (服從).

My child is weak in items (5) & (6) which greatly requires logical reasoning.  His compliance level is also below standard which will hinder his learning progress.  I am not satisfied with his performance and want to look for something new to improve the situation.  To me, the faster the improvement, the better.

基本上我仔仔overall都唔係好好，特別係"講故事"，只會講圖卡上最基本嘅資料。"rediction technique"及"猜謎語"就好視乎佢見過未，因為佢記性好，見過就多數會記得。"Read the mind of the others"就真係好弱，好典型的亞氏保加症。

Dear kmwun,
Thanks.  Does your child have speech delay now?  I know some children passing the s.t. assessment but not speaking as good as those normal kids.  

Do you think that more exposure will strengthen items (5) & (6)?  My child is good at reciting books.

如果就一般講嘢、發音等仔仔無咩問題。但整體的表達唔夠，例如序事會好零碎；自己同別人的感受亦唔多識表達；有時係唔適當的場合講唔適當的說話；當然亦有自己講自己鍾意的嘢。我覺得係社交等嘅整體問題，希望之後開始去蕊展會有進步，我亦會考慮去番見ST，不過等開咗學定啲先。

相信唔同的exposure都會幫到，不過我地仔仔自學的能力較弱，可能要試多幾次，再加埋我地解釋點做會好啲。近日每晚同仔仔睇痙攣協會套社交書都有啲幫助。

但我隻仔如果玩棋或者有規則要守既遊戲,恐防佢會唔明同埋唔聽人地講,有機會同其他囝囝發生爭執噃...^^:我都知我諗多咗...希望唔會有啲咩大件事發生啦...

Dear Stella & Kmwun,
Thanks a lot for your detailed sharing.  According to s.t. assessment, my child has met the age level.   However, I strongly feel that the assessment results can't reflect the true picture of my son's speech ability.  Examination does not mean anything.  In fact, he is weak in the items that I posted before and he does not speak fluently when he expresses something that he is not familiar with.  I will let him keep on attending s.t. lesson so as to train him to speak as good as those normal children.

My son's speech situation is quite close to your son e.g. 最鐘意講今日邊個曳, 邊個打交, 邊個比老師訓.

真係好忟呀!!!頭先同個仔一齊練寫字,今日我開始俾佢試吓做吓啲作業(仲要係幼兒班),發現我個仔真係乜都唔識囉!佢以前間幼稚園真係一啲嘢都無教佢咁,我剩係叫佢做選擇題,佢係識得答呀,但叫佢圈答案時佢就一鑊過圈哂所有答案,咁叫佢寫'大'同埋'小'呢兩隻生字啦,佢又係寫唔到...真係好擔心佢讀唔到正規小學既課程,距離九月一日唔夠半個月,我都唔知點教佢好...又要教佢寫abc同中文字,又要教佢點做作業...我捱到,我怕我個仔未必捱到...一日做咁多功課...真係唔知點算...!!!
