I know from radio this morning that traffic jam so serious at HK East (East Highway, King's Road) so if the sch. bus your son take is the East one, would definitely late

mmm.... this morning I thought it's 'red' warning tim.  If 'red' warning, no school.  So heavy rain, better no school for kindergartens, right ?

Hi, all,

My boy is taking the southern line.  I think the bus was not late this morning..... however, my boy was late!!!!       

The bus lady rang me this morning at 8:17 but didn't wait for my answer and hang up.  I think she saw my boy approaching lah...

My maid told me later that they were almost late because of the rain!

We are taking the eastern line.
Actually, I'm not really angry, I understand the heavy rain might cause traffic jam, and the schoolbus auntie apologized politely.

My boy just got a fever this evening!  I think most probably because the temperature sudden dropped yesterday.  He was still wearing T-shirt and shorts!!!!  I quickly asked him to put on long sleeves top but I think it was too late!!

You know what? Yesterday my boy was scolded by the class mistress!!!  Ms Chan said my boy was dreaming.... 咁矇嘅....冇心機喎！ Then I asked my boy why Ms Chan said so.  Did he do something wrong or didn't remember what she taught.  He said because he was sleepy yesterday and forgot to pack his colour pencils and things....

1) low quality in Kinder, according to my friend (she is a teacher in St. Jo Primary). Boys with low grades are 99% from St. Jo Kinder.

2) Traditional school teaching method. Teachers there are antique, and sometimes no motivation to teach or care kids.

3) Chinese Kinder with limited chance to pratice English and Mandarin. Languages using in my kid's kinder are English and Mandarin.

4) Limited areas for exercise. The only space is the top floor with a shabby look.

5) Class rooms are on the top floor. Kids need to go all the way for class rooms and exercise. That's another critical safety issue.

My boy told me yesterday that they will have NO dictation today.  I said I didn't believe that and my boy asked me to call the teacher to ask.

Really? My boy didn't mention anything when I dictate the words with him yesterday bor!

Hi Leung_i,

The comments are written by a BK mom whose son has been accepted by St. Jo for admission to 06 K2    She's struggling whether let her son to transfer to St. Jo. or not.

I didn't comment on her negative comments (you know everybody has different standards.)  but some hard facts in her comments are NOT true bor (eg. play area is a shabby top floor, etc.)  Originally I thought I need to response to her comment but gave up after second thought because it's none of my business.        

Personally I also think the comments are very harsh.

My son was successfully got a seat in K2 for the coming Sept.  At first, I'm very happy and excited.  Now, I'm a bit frustrated and upset after reading the comments from the other mom who also got a seat in K2.  Personally I like St. Jo very much because of its reputation  both in academic and discipline aspects.  I think some comments from the mom may not be fair. Can you help to tell a bit more about St. Jo? How is the teaching media? Are they Chinese or English oriented? Any mandarin course and how do they conduct the English lesson? Do the Kinder kids just can play at 7/F? And, do you know how many St. Jo Kinder's kids can be promoted to St. Jo Primary?

You're a more clever mom.  I can only tell you the hard facts.  Whether the school suit your boy or not is another story.

How is the teaching media? Are they Chinese or English oriented?
mainly Chinese.  English lessons on 2 days/week

Any mandarin course and how do they conduct the English lesson?
No mandarin course
No idea how English lessons conducted.  They need to do Eng. homework (letter writing, dictation, work sheets, to recognize Eng. words, etc.)

Do the Kinder kids just can play at 7/F?
No.  My boy told me they play on the ceiling floor (playground) and an indoor play room of Primary Section (*they have PE lessons on 2 days/week)

do you know how many St. Jo Kinder's kids can be promoted to St. Jo Primary?
No one can tell you the exact figures.  
I believe the chance is not slim.

My son has his seat in K2 in the coming semester too... I believe that it would be high chance to get in to primary (hopefully)
