thanx everyone for coming last sat... cassidy really have a good time. it's hard to have a 1H group photo ... a bit crowded

i've got some photos outside the playground with some of you and it's posted on facebook, find elaine li if you want to check the photos

Today they'd learnt M for Moon; Chinese number "十"; Chinese word "杯" and sang the song of "Ring a ring of rosie".

Thanks Camom. Fu Soen told me she has learnt new song but she forgot the name.

BTW, Cassidy's mum, I cannot find you in facebook as there are too many Elaine Li.

Calix said they have a blue book for writing ABC. Today they'd written letter A.
One interesting thing by Calix. He said 我有好多頭髮，弟弟剩係得兩條頭髮（說時摸摸自己個頭）。At first I didn't understand what he meant. Later I found out that it's because of the 兩點 on top of the "弟" 字. I guess that must be taught by Ms. Chan to strengthen their memory.

Hi Calix's mum,

I am so jealous that Calix is able to tell you so much things that are taught in school AND in such great details !!!
Fu Soen has been reluctant to go to school since last Wed. She cried when she went to bed and got onto the school bus. I called Ms Chan but the situation remains unchanged.
Do you have any clue of what is the recent changes at school after the Xmas holiday?
Does Calix tell you anything about the changes?
Or did he mention anything about Fu Soen?
Did he see Fu Soen cry in the classroom?

Hi Fu Soen's mom,

Don't be upset!  Is that just because of holiday sick?  I didn't hear Calix say anything about Fu Soen.  Maybe I'll ask him tmw.

Calix said they didn't go to the playground these few days (maybe it's too cold).  Will that be a reason?

If you see Calix, you'll find him still look like a baby...he's still saying BB words sometimes.  Maybe I'm a full-time mom, I have more time in probing him of what's happened in school.  Calix just told me the things piece by piece and I need to use my imagination to make up the whole story.

I think Fu Soen still has "holiday sick" as same as Joyce. She has been unwilling to go to school since 1st day to school after Christmas holidays. Luckily, she did not cry to get onto the schoolbus.

Got some news... this week is starting only the "Oral exam" and next week will be the official exam week... Today will start the writing homework as well.

Thanks for the info. Did Ms. Chan tell you about these? Does "oral exam" means revision only? I remember that last time they'd revision in class b4 the actual assessment.

Many updates today...

I'd asked Calix what had they done at school today (I tried not to remind him that was an assessment). He told me that Ms. Chan & Ms. Lam played games with them including English, Chinese & Numbers. He said the teachers had written many English letters on the blackboard and asked them to do matching.
For Chinese, he just said they played 中文字咭. I asked which word(s) did he see and he answered me "山" which is definitely unbelievable (they haven't learnt this from school).

They'd got a blue copy book today which looks quite interesting...not only copywriting but also colouring, drawing, matching etc.. Calix finished writing the letter "A" quickly as they'd finished most of the letter writing in class actually. Then Calix proceeded to letter "L" and finished it too. I wonder if Ms. Chan had really asked them to do it. I tried to stop him from doing the letter "L" but he insisted that Ms. Chan asked them to do it. Anyone knows if that's true?

Calix had sung 3 songs today:

(1) This is the school
"This is the school and this is the classroom.
Open the door and see all the children."

(2) We are happy children (this one seems to be the school song, doesn't it?):
"We are happy little children.
Coming to a school of us.
Getting ready for the day.
Kentville, Kentville here we come."

(3) A Chinese 賀年歌
「我要唱歌恭祝你，好開心，多福氣。我要唱歌恭祝你，吉星隨著尾尾。」After singing the song, he'll say 恭喜恭喜, very funny! Actually I can't hear very well for the last sentence which sounds strange now. Maybe you can double check with your kids.
