Re: Think International School

maria_lai ,

Yes our girl is studing at the Laguna City branch.  She is in Ducks class now and is going to be Bunnies and UN starting Sep.

monmantong,

I agree with you that the receptionist cannot help much, not that she is not helpful, but she is simply not in the positon to answer many questions.  It is a pity that your experience with the teachers are not so good.  But so far you have only talked to the receptionist.  Probably you will have a different idea on the school after talking to the teachers and the principal.

Re: Think International School

hi! may be it was the 2 " black Friday" to me, .. which i cannot encounter any good teacher, but i gave them 2 chances.... anyway, the school fee is similar to the famous kindergartens in KLn Tong, my final decision is not to choose them. it is their loss that lost a customer.

Re: Think International School

WYmom,

I have enrolled my son to LN bilingual class in Aug and am planning to change to whole day class later.
Seems there are a few options for whole day class, bilingual, international, playgroup, project... Can you tell me more details and what's the difference between formal class and playgroup/project type?  Also, if my son joins whole day class bilingual, will he be in the same class as formal am and pm bilingual class?  if so, how about the afternoon nap time? will he learn the same thing in the morning and afternoon?
Many thanks.

Carol

Re: Think International School

Carol,

As I understand, formal class follows the regular class schedule.  For LN class, they will sleep 2 hours after lunch, then will have project/ playgroup, which will be role play, story telling, artwork, cookery, singing songs... which is not so formal, I really find this approach more interesting and kids can learn to speak English more naturally.  They use theme base approach, the themes of am and pm class may be the same, but the teachers are different and the activities are different.

I don't know well about whole day bilingual, the pm session is shorter than the am session, so not sure how the time of English and Chinese be divided.  It will be better for you to ask the school directly.

Hope this helps.

Re: Think International School

For Laguna Branch (may be other branches as well), there are Bilingual and International classes.  Most of the whole day students choose a mix of Bilingual and International together, i.e. Bilingual AM and International PM, or Bilingual PM and International AM.

In K1, 09:00 - 12:00 for 1st session followed by half hour lunch time.  After that, a 2 hour nap time from 12:30 to 14:30 (PM supposed to be started at 13:15, so 1 hour 15 minutes will be lost due to nap time).  The class ends at 16:15.   In K2 and onwards, there will be no nap time.

If you choose whole day solely bilingual or whole day solely international, I believe they are learning the same thing between AM and PM.

Re: Think International School

Dear all,

Just know this website and glad to know that there is a discussion about THINK here (I took more than 3 days to read through all the communications...) Since my son will be studying the 2-year old class in THINK (MOS) in Aug '05, I really want to know if the teachers are nice & caring here?
Meanwhile, any other good schools recommended in MOS? I just moved to MOS and am really new to this district.
Unfortunately when I talked about the "school net" of MOS, most of my friends felt here is NO good. Shall I consider other districts? ... I know Kowloon Tong shall have a lot very famous schools, yet high school fee is one concern. Besides, too far away is another concern (I think that is no good for such a small kid to take 1-hour travelling time for schooling everyday.)
Can any moms living / studying in MOS share your valuable experience / opinions with me?...

Thanks in advance!!!

Re: Think International School

School net only matters when you choose primary, it does not matter where your kid studies in kindergarten.

At Think, I understand that parents can request to transfer the kids to Think Kowloon Tong by K2 or K3 if you want more mandarin.

Re: Think International School

tweetybird,

Don't worry, it is very normal for kids to cry initially, my daughter also cried for a few days at the beginning.  If the teacher is nice and patient, the kids will get along with her quickly.  Hope your kid will adapt to the new environment very soon.

Re: Think International School

Hi WYMom, Maria, TweetyBird,

Glad to receive your responce.
TweetyBird - There is no difference (bilingual or international class) for the 2-year old class (Lower Nursury class?).
My son will be studying in MOS THINK, which branch do your kids study? Wish we could be in the same district.

Have a nice day!
