Re: Think International School

tweetybird,

帶住頂鴨舌帽上堂教書??  It's interesting.  If she's nice, it doesn't matter on her hat.

I think "輕微碰撞" can't be avoided.  However, do you think the space is not enough and there're too many students.  If the teachers can control the students quite well, it should be safe.

Why do you want to change school for your daughter?

Re: Think International School

Hi! originally Think ( Kwan Tong Branch ) is my target school, however after my visit, i am so disappointed and angry with this kindergarten.

I made appointment before going there, it was about 4:30 pm weeksday, most of the pm class kids left, but the reception only told me that i can take a look by myself, no introduction, and asked me not to see their classrooms... at that time, i feel that i am not respected by them, i saw a lot of teachers, both local and native, but their faces were so cool, no smile; also, they pretended not seeing me ( this visitor). i asked if any teacher can introduce the kindergarten to me, but the reception said " no". and only asked me questions if i asked, ... .

also, i saw 2 local teachers talking on the phone on the sofa, and it seems that they only focused on talking, i think private calls.

the overall feeling is poor, the campus is old and not cleaned .

before i walked to the kindergarten, 3 moms walked out from the kindergartens with their kids, and i asked their comment, and their comment " the teachers do not love children, they only did their appointed jobs, and the teachers are not good enough.

so, i won't consider this kindergarten...

Re: Think International School

monmantong,

Oh, don't know why the Kwun Tong Branch like this.

The teachers in Mei Foo Branch are very nice.  All staff and teachers have smile.  We'd been offered an introduction and a site visit without asking.  My son is now studying at there and so far it's okay.

Re: Think International School

I think as the Kwun Tong Branch is the oldest branch, which has been opened for over 10 years and may be quite popular in that region, so they are not keen to arrange site visit etc.

I have similar experience with a famous Kln Tong kinder, they are so famous and they won't allow site visit and sound very cool even after they have accepted my kid.  They can be very snobbish as their waiting list is very long.

So far, Think Mei Foo is quite good.  Different branches will vary, and different people have different requirements and feelings towards schools, so it will be better to visit the school personally to understand more.

Re: Think International School

monmantong,

Did you walk in or did you have an appointment?  Our experience is quite the opposite.

Before we decided to send our girl to this school, we requested to talk to the class teachers first.  The teachers took us to the classroom, showed us the different corners of the classroom, the students' work, explained to us their curriculum, how they would handle naughty kids, their policy on discipline, etc.  The teachers were and are nice and friendly.  They left us an impression that they knew what they were doing and that they were good at it.

Our girl is currently at LN.  We are satisfied with the school and the teachers.  She will attend UN (full day) coming September.  She has been accepted by ESF and other int'l schools in Kowloon Tong.  But since this one is nearer home and offers the opportunity of learning another language, we stick with Think.

Re: Think International School

Wymom, justjust and maria_lai,
may be i didn't explain more details. ..

i did make apointment before going there. actually i have visited Think twice, 1st time was last year about Sept, it was Saturday & i made appointment too. The same lady in reception responded to me at that time, but i understood that it was holiday and no teachers station, that's why i only took a look .

but when i visited there again, few days ago, i called it before and asked the lady if they have the application form available for next year K1, the lady answered " not sure, i remember we have .. " , then she told me the person in charge was out and asked me to call them again. later i called them and reconfirmed that i can get the application form and visit them.

however, when i asked the lady in reception if any teacher can help me,  there were 2 local teachers near the counter but didn't want to talk with me or face with me. i know they are teachers because they just came from classrooms.  my point is that if they are not available, they should ask me to come on next available day on the phone.
also, when i asked the lady about some questions of their curriculum & details, she asked me to refer to their caterlog. ...

also, usually the western people are so nice to vistors and carries with smiles, say " hello", it is their culture, however, when i saw their western teachers, they were so cool ...  i doubt if they treat the parents as their target customers or not..
also, with the comments from those moms, i really feel disappointed with this. maybe it is not true, but at least it is my personal feeling. . i visited different kindergartens before, but i was never treated as this , also i don't find any professionalism from their teachers, it's true. i understand why there are seldom moms chating about Kwan Tong Branch now.
ps: one of the moms told me the communication between it branch with other 2 (MOS/Mei Fu) is poor, i believe MOS and Mei Fu are much better..

Yes, the Kwun Tong branch is in Laguna City, it is the oldest branch.  Kln Tong branch is quite new, opened for 2 to 3 years, and is running together with Think International primary.

Re: Think International School

monmantong,

I am sorry to hear your experience but my girl is studying at the LN class at Laguna City branch and I am very satisfied with the school & teacher.  I can see my girl's development throughout the last 6 months (she joined the class in mid year from Jan05). I am especially impressed by her class teacher. She called almost everyday when my girl started her first school there and let me know her reaction during class and keep me up with my girl's development. She is very caring and always notice some small changes to my girl. Initially we are thinking of changing to other kindergarten from Sep05 but we finally decided to stay (my girl was also accepted by other kindergartens such as creative & victoria) as she is happy and enjoy this school and she loves to go to school. Everytime we go pass the school she will point and say that's her school.
