好擔心...醫生話BB發展遲緩~~

It is so busy today and only can have time to visit Bk now!

We all understood your feeling and we will support each other here.  At the beginning of this year, I also was fed up by the comments from school regarding my girl's performance in class, like a plane already took off the runway but shot down by gun in sudden…  during this low tide I spoke with Heep Hong ST & social worker.  They all supported me & my girl very much which soothe my pain indeed.  They helped us from their sincere hearts not only words but in action as well.

Trust your kid and yourself.  Like one mummy said that we are the one who know much clearly about our children's strengths and weaknesses.  I also don't think that my girl's performance would be too bad.  With support from Heep Hong, I gained my power again and continue to work harder with my girl.  Never give up!  Maybe she grows and knows, maybe it is DHA effects or maybe it is our efforts altogether.  She has shown much improvement these several months with positive comments from assessment and school though she still has plenty of rooms to improve.  

Road is still long to run…I am also afraid to be shot down once again when I gain hope.  With a  mother's basic instinct, she is not bad at all and she must have her own strengths/talents whilst she falls behind in some areas compared with other kids.  I will observe and develop her strengths but I also need to embrace her weaknesses in some areas.  

So does your son!  He must have strengths or talents which need his mommy to assist in development.  Even the worst come to the worst, they are our children who are unique and so precious in the world that we love all their strengths and weaknesses.

掉反轉頭唸﹐囝囝亂答﹐亂做﹐唔留心﹐所以醫生有咁既評語﹐總好過囝囝已經好俾心機做都係得咁既評語。

唔開心一﹐兩日好啦﹐跟住再繼續努力啦。其實個個父母都有條長路要行﹐只係有特殊需要小朋友既夫母條路會多D灣﹐斜岥﹐我地都係緊張自己仔女先覺得有壓力﹐所以覺得疲累同辛苦。

Dear HelenMrs.Lau,
I have similar experience like you.  My child was diagnosed as autism by a private child psychiatrist.  But the government child assessment centre just diagnosed him as delay and commented that he was co-operative and had good eye contact.  I later sent him to a government child psychiatrist for further diagnosis.  We have visited this doctor for one and a half year and he just says that my child may be a bit autistic, not serious.  Now, my child can ride two-wheel bicycle, write as fast as those normal kids, catch up his speech, communicate and play well with his classmates, read simple Chinese books, do simple Mathematics and spell simple English vocab.  Although he is very inattentive, I am satisfied with his overall development.  I will let him repeat K3 so as to let him get more mature for primary education.

Don't feel upset.  Different assessment may have different results.  NOBODY UNDERSTANDS THE REAL STRENGTHS OF OUR KIDS BETTER THAN US!!!

However, they may respond in different ways.
