can anybody tell me the no. of students in primary class in ICS?  I am considering to transfer my child to ICS primary section, what is the content of interview for students? any parents have such expericence, please share.

Seems that debenture is required now? what is the amount for current students?

For Pre-grade 1, there're about 18 children per class x 4 classes.  For grade 1 - 5, there're max 25 per class x  3 classes per grade.

The debenture for new students costs HK$190,000 per student.

but any other parents can share what the content of interview?  Are students given written test and face-to-face interview?

It seems that no more admissions openings are available for elementary classes for AY 2008/2009. However, you may check with admissions of the ICS for details.

I found in website that elementary is from P1 to G5, does it mean there are total 6 grades in elementary school which is equivalent to p1 to p6 of local schools?

Not really. ICS Elementary serves 450 students from P1 (equivalent to a full day Kindergarten in the United States) to Grade 5.

Dear all ICS parents,

Have your children studied/are studying the KI & K2 in ICS.  My boy is now studying Anfield's playgroup and for his primary, I will plan to send my boy to study ICS when he reaches 5.  Now I am stuggling in choosing kindergarten for my son in either ICS or Anfield.  Hope to receive your comment about ICS's KI & K2.

#2 回覆 ICS is not an easy school. At elementary, they are high demanding on academic; strict in discipline. Parents should prepare lots of time to follow kids' school work. I don't had bias on this school, coz my son is studying here. But I had highly appreaciate their demanding..coz compare the other IS..kids at around G4 or up would be very wild and less discipline. But here... kids grow up with rules.So, they all are fine.

#3 回覆 any comment of ICS (primary school)? is it good? I've heard many good comment if ICS kinder, but what about the primary school?

can any parents share their opinions on the summer camp of ICS?

i'd like to apply for "kg" level for my child,
the staff said the places will be filled up very soon.

I noted that many non-ICS students joined the summer program every year.

Hi Furbymao,

My daughter has joined the ICS summer school (kindergarten) for 2 summers and I think it's good value for money.  It offered a rich program focusing on 4 or 5 main areas, viz. language arts, science, music, art & crafts and PE.  The hours seem long for a kindergarten-age child though (4 hrs). The child doesn't get off till 1pm and would have to have a late lunch but then it saves the travelling time and effort of sending the child to different places to learn different things.  So really depends what you want your child to do during the holiday.  

The teachers might not be the regular kindergarten teachers but they were still very good.  Some might be alumni or teachers from other sections (middle or high school).  Everyday after school, the teachers met to share and discuss any issues they might have and to pray for the children.

I have 3 or 4 friends sending their kids to ICS summer school before (they aren't ICS students and now going to ESF, RCHK or local school) and all of their comments were positive and would want to send their kids there again.  We were impressed about how the learning was done, e.g. when the kids learnt about the rainforest, the classroom was set up like a real rainforest, with real tree branches!  The kids also observed insects and could pet a starfish.

From my experience, places filled up fast, especially the 2nd session.  When I waited till my daughter has started the first session to enrol for the 2nd session, I was too late and couldn't get a place.  My daughter's friend enrolled late and got accepted only to the first session.  

For your additional info, I think schoolbus is not available in the summer if it's a concern.

Sandrine, thanks for your share below. I agreed with what she said that it is worth to join the summer program. My kid loves to join the summer program very much too.
