They have to 'interview small boys/girls just for the sake of some small kids with close connection to SPK are to be accepted. So, they need to have prepare a 'drama of interview' for the small kids.
It is not surprised the principal of their primary school are not happy with the pupils from SPK, because the interview is not on the quality /potential of the kids, but their dob.

          They can do like "Ling Leung Tong" stated in the application form that....the kids who apply should be 3 years old not 2 yr and 8 months...so the small boys/ girls can excluded SPK in  their choice. And it save time as well.

           But anyway, still feel happy and congratulations to those been accepted by SPK, cause their teachers are really good and nice, my colleagues say that, both her kids are very happy everyday to go to school !

我都聽過有幼稚園生升唔到, 我唔知數目, 不過聽聞都係因為父母太"pair", 唔理唔理坐定粒六, 或者小朋友有行為問題
其實, 亦聽過有家長話, spk程度唔算太谷, 咁多年黎都係, 要嫌棄都唔係而家至嫌啦......
至於收唔收細女, 大家唔駛估, 事實係"肯定係yes", 因為當年我想幫女女apply, 當時個staff係咁答我既"8月尾呀....機會就無咩架喇, 不過即管可以試下既....."我以人格保證絕對唔係老作, 我亦唔係第一次quote呢番說話, 其實好多kinder都會係咁, 不過講到出面+做到出面, spk都算係表表者.....至於interview細仔係咪做戲, 我覺得又唔駛咁難聽既....不過即管in下, 真係非常超級特別outstanding咪收咁解!

我都系抱住試下 & 見識下D名校先同個女去interview。收就開心， reject 都吾失望。仲有大把可選。
但.....點解SPK吾好似培正咁寫明o係張 application form 到只收8月31日前出生小朋友呢？咁咪吾使咁多父母失望同浪費時間 lor......

FYI, 我的女兒8月細女, 現正讀K1, 她不會"前後空反", 一家人不會玩"急口令", 也沒有帶"老火薑湯"去面試, 而班中仍有9和10月出生的小朋友。

The letter states my girl's application is unsuccessful (limited seat!!), but .... in the waiting list..

is it still have chance?

I don't think there are any difference between "waiting list" and "reject", by the end of the day should be the same, 係唔收!

我諗"文字上"係有分別 ~ waiting list係如果有位, 你可以等佢, 你可以補上; 而reject 係唔收啦!
但實際上又會唔會有位呢?而又會唔會放棄其他已收的幼稚園等佢呢??

If SPK has bad experience with their accepted small kids, there are only two logical reasons:
Either they do not know how to teach kids
or  they have problem in their selection criteria
My kids' KG has no discrimination of dob ( almost evenly distributed from Jan - Dec ), I did not see/ hear that  any pupils cry after the first month ( evan for K1 Dec/Nov born ).
I receive also no complaint from teacher or parents about small kids...
SPK really has some problem to solve..

而我知道 st paul 有個 case家姐入左, 唸住阿妹都會收, 但係就reject 左, 好彩最後入左隔離spn (當事人睇到唔好介意.) 而我有個朋友個女係大女, 平時超醒又靚女又好笑容又唔怕羞, 個個都以為實ok, 點知係interview個日病, 表現不好, 所以都失敗左.

故其實都幾慘, 就算你個小朋友幾醒都係睇個3分鐘的表現, 真係要天時, 地理,人和.

不過都係個句, 好學校唔止佢一間, 入到咪當 bonus, 入唔到大把學校簡, 唔好因為咁搞到自己唔開心, 而且咁樣講對st paul 好唔公平, 其實佢地下午班都有好多細仔細女ga. 上午班真係小d.

而家先係幼稚園咋, 重有一大斷路行, 大家要努力啊.

          Your kid's class also have classmates that born in Oct/dec? But are there the same year?? I mean many of them who born in Oct-Dec and accepted by SPK usually born in the previous year ka bor.......
