I consider to pay a visit to these schools if possible, not sure if they welcome visitor during weekdays.  i want to see how the class is going...

btw, my friend visited victoria earlier and wasn't asked to put off her shoes.

I 've called HKPS for a visit but the lady said Sat only!  You could check again.

BTW, victoria(HMT) would give the visitor a pair of plastic covers to put on top of your shoes.

What is your concern to HKPS?  What kind of hesitation you have?  I have offers from HKPS and Victoria but I would give up Victoria.

Actually, I don't know any friend's kids studying in this school.  (But in SC & KV)  Thank you for your sharing.

You seem to be very concern on the hygiene standard, right?

For KM nursery class, students are required to change a white sport shoes in classroom. The shoes are put into school till Friday. But I don't know the arrangement of KM Kinder level.

I have no knowledge about HKPS, but I don't think it is bad.

Should boy study in HKPS with more adventages than girl? Mine one is a girl, should I consider it?

What is your fd's overall comment on HKPS? Does she feel satisfy (inclo. on the teachers, edu standard, etc.) If the child do not well take care themselves, sure not spend more time on them, if yes, overall the school is not with heart, or just independent teacher performs like that. Please advise. As my girl is a small girl, overall performance must be worse than those large kids. It is my great concern.

Will you continue to IEC, the new classes are all in pm session, it is a good reason for me to quit it. How about your decision?

I would quit the IEC course in July.  

Besides,  I don't quite understand why there is any disadvantage for girls to study at HKPS.  Generally, girl performs even better than boy in elementary grade.

I have read a message that this year there are 60 boys enter into DBSPD from SC!  Amazing!  AND My heart break     

Any allocation news from KM?  You could also check this info before you make your final decision. :wink:

i see it!!! i think that parent is speaking about his son's class, which is 06-07 (which interviewed in winter of 05)..... each year might be different... and of course if u plan to enter hkps, u would expect such a difference in number, for eg. sc has 600 k3, hkps has 100 k3.... if sc has 10%=60, would hkps have 10 for its 10%.... rumor has it it did for 06-07....

but i think it is more important on how u want your son to develop to succeed in school/learning, rather than if he gets into dbspd.... there's always a chance the child won't get in, even if old boys, or in sc.... etc. but maybe he can get into other good schools, right... not getting into dbspd is not the end of the world la.....!  :wink:

Yes, same as you!  The receptionist said there would be an orientation in July.  Therefore, we'll receive notice later!  Which class your kid will be?

Many thanks for your reply, HKPS has accepted my daugther in pm class and I wrote a letter for requesting an am class, now is awaiting the result. Beside, I am also struggling on HKPS and Keenmind , what do you think?

HKPS vs Keenmind=pm session vs am session, right?

In my case, HKPS vs Victoria and I've chosen HKPS.  
I've also made a request to change to am session but I do think it's not easy.  However I like the curriculum and locatin of HKPS.  So I pick HKPS.

In your case, HKPS vs Keenmind.  Many parents have this problem.  How to choose?  If HKPS offer you am class, would you pick HKPS without hesitation.  IF YES, that means you prefer this KG more.  IF NO, that means Keenmind has its uniqueness attracting you.  Then you should pick Keenmind.

From other moms' sharing, it's alright to adjust the schedule of our kids from am session to pm session.

Both KGs are good and the standard are so close.  OR you should visit both KGs again and get some "straight feelings" with your kid.

Let's see if our kids would be classmates later!

boy has advantage to study in hkps, this is what my friend told me.  I'm not sure it is her subjective opinion or an overall feeling of parents.  the fact is my frined's boy is quite smart and outperformed in the class.  the teacher there loves him so much.  in contrast, even it was accepted by hkps, my friend put her second son to another kg in TKO as he is not that smart as his brother (can't manage to go toilet himself and still behave a  bit like a baby.

my baby is a girl too.  its hard to make a decision between hkps and km.

Don't worry for your girl!  As she is going to the pre-nursery class, she can manage to go to toilet someday!  But would you change again in K1?  If so, pls consider clearly.

Hi all moms,

I am a bit worry on my son as he still cannot manage to go to toilet. He can only say it when all the "thing" come out.

I have sent the letter from PM to AM and phoned HKPS and they said they will have an arrangement on the details in July. I wonder what the curriculum they can offer. I don't know whether a school bus can route through TKO.

The HKPS teacher said that there is nanny bus to TKO but no school bus.

what do u mean to change another kg in k1?  i don't quite get it.  I will conisder to switch if my daugther  can be accepted by some other kg like sc or kenville.  in yr opinion, what shd I take into account in making a decision for K1?

I could understand that you're going to apply SC and KV for K1.  So KM or HKPS would be your backup.  

If so, you may choose KM.  Since some parents said the pre-nursery class in KM is better--in terms of caring for the babies and hygiene environment and also with good english training.  After that, your kid would be smart enough to apply for whatever SC and KV.

But if you want to study K1 in HKPS, then you should take the pre-nursery class there because it's hard to get into the am session at HKPS for K1.  (just like my case!)
