I'm 2 childs(girl & boy) mom and want them study at same school. My husband loves this school and wants our kids study at St Stephen's.

其實我都係從其他媽咪到得知呢間學校, 如有講錯, 請各位媽咪更正

呢間學校係用活動教學, 佢地校舍好大, 有一個標準swimming pool, 有球場, 有個容納全校既學生既飯堂, 環境空氣都好好, 佢地既教學語言主要係要英同國語, 小朋友個個d國語都講得好好, 仲有條樓梯通落沙灘, 教學唔一定係班房, 小朋友個個讀得好開心, 我有個朋友佢本身教書, 佢對學校要求好高, 佢個大仔係st.stephen讀, 佢話有一次帶比賽間間學校都要老師帶學生, 但係st.stephen既學生就唔需要老師教, 自己搞掂仲搞得好好, 佢覺得d學生好有自信心, 我有朋友既朋友個囝囝都係st.stephen讀, 而呢個daddy係HKU 既 professor, 佢都覺得st.stephen好好, d學生好有自信心語言好好, 我朋友話雖然st.stephen係香港排名唔係好高, 但係原來國際排名好高架, 因為香港排名既計法係計成績, 但係國際計法係要計埋學校環境, 小朋友開心程度, 語言.....但係st.stephen既程度一定唔及出面d 名校高, 因為d名校會谷行d學生讀書

新任教統局常任秘書長黃鴻超昨日履新。他表示…更大的挑戰是如何提高教育質素、提升本地學生的學養和競爭力。

商界調查評價低
獨立調查公司TNS和《南華早報》合辦一系列的本地領袖意見調查，最新的一個調查於昨日公佈，題目便是香港教育。根據這項針對全港七百名意見領袖和商業決策者進行的調查，香港的大學生除了有關數學方面的才能表現較佳之外，其他如分析能力、國際視野、英文水準，以及領導才能等等都不理想，這些被訪者更認為來自歐洲、北美洲、澳洲，甚至中國大陸的大學畢業生比本港大學畢業生表現更好。香港的大學畢業生看到有關的調查研究，是否有危機感呢﹖

表面上看，調查所得似是老生常談，因為愈來愈多僱主表示，香港大學生不夠競爭力。這些說服只是一些含糊的印象，但這項教育調查所得出的仔細的科學數據，其實非常值得教育當局和教育界反省，想想我們的教育制度出現了甚麼問題，我們又可以如何扭轉劣勢。

調查結果究竟有幾嚇人﹖本地大學畢業生除了數學方面的能力得到接近一半被訪者表示有信心之外，分析能力只有一成六的被訪者認同合水準，他們普通話能力、人際關係、領導才能和創意只有一成二的被訪者表示有信心，而英文水準和國際視野則分別只有一成一和百分之八的被訪者認為有信心。對本地大學生在這幾項能力指標表達無信心的被訪者，則多達超過四成，其中表示對英語能力、創意和分析能力表示完全沒有信心的被訪者都超過一成。如果這個調查算得上是香港商界高層和意見領袖給予本地畢業生的「成績表」，我們的畢業生前途有幾光明﹖

死讀書難達要求
調查所設定的能力指標並沒有標奇立異，也沒有刻意為難本地畢業生。以香港這樣一個成熟經濟體系，以及以服務業為主體的市場，創意、分析能力、英語水平、普通話能力、人際關係、領導能力和國際視野，都是在此就業市場能站得穩的人士必須具備的條件，而這些能力指標都有一個共通點，乃它們都不能靠背書、默書可以學習得到。

本地學生必需要把課堂上學得的知識融會貫通，在學習中鍛煉出獨立思考和判斷能力，才能夠擁有這些在一個高度競爭市場立足的條件。而在這個過程中，如果學生不知要充實自己多閱讀課外知識和讀物，對培養這些能力亦是一大障礙。

在今日香港中小學教育制度重背書，狹窄地催谷學生根據考試局定出的課程範圍學習的環境之下，本地學生縱使晉身大學，得到國際知名學者的薰陶下，可能都會因先天不足而未能「轉型」，在此情況下，同學們依然用讀中學的態度修讀大學，國際視野、分析能力、創意思維又如何可以培養出來﹖

教統局推廣通識教育長遠可能有幫助，但成功與否還要看學校如何教通識。無論如何，這份最新的教育調查替今日的教育界面對的問題再次響起警號。教育當局、學校、家長和學生若仍然未能擺脫舊思維，放棄背誦教育，我們的畢業生還有競爭力嗎﹖

In the past, university places in Hong Kong were very limited. Most people who wanted to go to universities had to drill a lot for public examinations. And, U-graduates would automatically become leaders in the society. However, now we can observe that the supply of university study has increased a lot. But U-graduates are not guaranteed to be competitive enough in the changing environment.

Therefore, we need to think cautiously about what kind of education we want our children to receive and what kind of ‘human assets' they should become in the future:
--- A 'calculator' who can do tasks very fast with 'programs and instructions' given?
--- A 'workstation' who has the flexibility to 'adsorb' new knowledge and new skills?
--- A ‘powerful network computer’ who has the abilities to ‘adsorb’ new ideas and have extensible networks?
Or,
--- An system 'analyst & designer', a 'programmer' who has great creativity and insights…

佢講我好岩呀, 其實而家香港好多學校都淨係想谷學生攞成績去攞高既排名, 但係真係令到家長同小朋友好辛苦, 我就係唔想大家咁辛苦, 所以st.stephen咁貴學費我都情願自己辛苦d等佢唔洗咁辛苦, 同埋最主要係我個囡如果係傳統學校讀書可能會好差, 因為佢唔係一個定既人, 如果要佢日日都背書, 我諗我未殺死佢之前我已經自殺啦

呢幾日我都唔敢望日曆, 唔敢睇日子, 因為一睇我就好緊張, 同埋我報地址唔係報九龍, 係報香港地址, 所以都唔可以第一時間收到, 我一開始諗起 我就叫自己唔好再諗, 隨緣啦, 雖然好難做到, 但係我唔想個人太緊張令到肚入面果個都緊張埋一份

Totally agree....               

Primary is only the starting point of our kids and they still have a long long way to go, so an all rounded education foundation is a benefit for them in the future.

好呀, 希望你好快有好消息啦, 我初時都唔想生2個架, 係我個囡不停叫我生, 我同佢講如果生多個佢冇咁多野學架啦, 佢話唔緊要, 佢學晒d野返黎教bb, 唔洗再"side"錢比bb學架, 咁我又覺得既然係佢鍾意既, 就不妨一試啦, 佢而家成日對住我個肚講野架, 仲有成日係屋企玩bb公仔, 學點湊bb

我先生係公務員, 每個月有津貼學費$3200, 所以我每個月大約連埋校車雜費大約$4000到啦, 所以我都可以接受, 加上家姐大細佬咁多, 到細佬讀小學, 家姐已經6年級lu, 我聽聞st.stephen上左中學既學費仲平過小學架, 咁到時細佬加家姐, 都應該可以接受, 我初時一聽到個學費都打左個突, 5千幾仲貴過ESF呀, 如果佢中學都係咁貴, 我諗我都要考慮下, 但係聽講係3千幾, 咁我有津貼自己比1千到, 所以又覺得讀得過

Oh, I see,
Apart from the school fee in St Stephen, the expenses for overseas education is also my concern to hv second kid.  If  x2, it's really difficult for us.......mmmmm......too many to concern.

You can save a lot wor.  I did try your way on practice piano with my son and now he will spend around 25-30 mins everyday, hope will have improvement later.

其實我地既小朋友咁大, 就算個大既要repeat1年, 2個小朋友都唔會一齊讀大學架啦, 叫做灘長左d時間, 唔洗一次過比, 所以應該ok架, 生多個佢地真係開心好多架, 同埋佢地而家咁大知道自己係哥哥姐姐, 亦明白做哥哥姐姐係有責任去照顧細佬妹, 會生性好多架, 我個囡自從知道可以做家姐後真係成熟左好多

What subjects are there in normal class? And their taught language?
