開學咁奈大家覺得EC有什麼優點與缺點？

Don't think that the Maths is easy to P1.

It's not those that taught in K1-K3. Moreover, it's all in Eng text. It targets to bring the kids from Chinese Maths to English Maths with self-understanding of the questions.

The questions normally will have 3 to 4 kinds of variations. Shapes will give clear definitions but you need to adapt to different situation and applications.

e.g. Giving a drawing with a sharp pencil and ask you what is/are the shapes.

It's simple...hee hee

The answer is that you have to divide the 3-D (they use this term) pencil shape into 2 parts and write down

1 prism + 1 pyramid

this is just a simple example.

Anyway, EC is helping the kids to migrate to an English Maths step by step rather than just force you to remember hard the Timestable 5x7=?


Some more info, Counting 1 - 10 means:

The kids are learning to do the calculations within 10, both plus and minus in English paragraph style and arithmetic style.

The teachers said their pace are unexpectedly fast as lots of kids already know how to calculate the arithmetics by heart rather than using figner countings.

不用擔心EC的課程淺,實在我覺得一點也不淺。就我的囡囡而言,她早於幼稚園K3也懂得你所描述的知識,如數(1-100)、簡單的加、減數、顏色及形狀等知識,但原來掌握這些實在不夠。
EC的數學是用英文的,他們需要學習理解題目外,還要掌握數字的概念,如簡單的加減數,只要你將它略為轉轉,他們就是不明,例:
__+4=8
3+__=7
__+__=6
__-5=3
10-__=4

以上的簡單的數學題目,已令我花盡心思的教導我的囡囡至明白。

若是中文的話, 仔仔應該無問題, 但若是英文的話, 就要多點時間教他了.

Hi, 我想問平日上課是用英語, 還是廣東話呢, 現在小一是否沒有普通話堂?

除了中文課和生命教育課外,其他大致是英語,遇有不明,會用廣東話講解.

其實,不只是上課時用英語,下課如小息,老師都會盡量用英語與小朋友溝通.

有普通話堂教拼音,小朋友會懂得用普通話讀中文課本每課內容.

上課兩個月以來,見小朋友無論英語和普通話上有明顯進步.
