MTR公司只得一間,所以如果指 "地鐵公司"要用 The MTR Corporation

請問 "Classrooms are on the first, second and third floor."裡的 floor 字應否加 "s"。

無論可以或不可以，請解釋一下，可以嗎？

哈哈, 好奇路過的.
本人無問題問, 不過好欣賞tutor能花時間幫bk家長們答問題, 應記一功!

不過, 吾知閣下是否全職tutor?  
閣下無疑是答了問題, 但欠了詳細的解說....e.g. a/an 令人一知半解,只有死記 .
教署都說求學不是求分數, 答案重要定明白重要?
或者, 一般補習老師都是幫小朋友做完功課便算 , 明不明就自行回校問老師啦.

做個好tutor, 應加以說明, 不是要問到就答, 不問當明白!
雖然tTutor你係免費幫人, bk家長不應要求多多. 但我真希望Tutor 大人能再加多些詳細解釋, 做福人群!!

多謝 eddie503. 以下是我的回應:

1. 我不是全職 tutor, 間中幫人補習, 但後來發覺好多學生都有共通的問題, 所以在此有些發表.  但我並不贊同家長花太多錢去幫子女補習, 將補習的錢用來帶他們去旅行更好. 小朋友應有多些活動, 不是上課就補習, 太慘了.

2. 關於 a/an 的解說, 涉及英語音標等問題, 其實我已很簡單的解釋過, 但不懂英語音標的會可能不懂.....又太複雜, 所以就 把常犯的錯誤列出, 希望大家注意, 可能要死記啦,

3. 請 eddie503 明白, 如不是涉及太複雜的解說,我會盡量詳細解釋, 其他家長亦可幫忙, 發表....

4.  我發覺好人真係好難做.....請 eddie503 見諒

你的意思是那些沒有用plural form的大學或政府網頁是錯的。還是在甚麼情況下，在first, second and third後應用singular或plural form。

我認為全部應該有 "s", 因為   "xxxx and xxxx" is more than ONE, 所以, 應該是 "xxxx and xxxx days/floors/years/quarters".

但冇加 "s" 的, 我感覺這樣用也可, 好似在文法上都可以, 但點解就唔咁清楚啦.
