My son doesn't like to take school bus, so I ask my helper to send him to school (I'm a working mom).  These 2 days, they leave home at ~0740 & arrive school b4 08:30.  After school, he likes to stay a while more in school to play.  Therefore, definitely "No" school bus for him.  I'd rather him staying at school more than going back home to spend so much time on watching TV & playing PC game.

Surely we'll have the chance to meet in RC.  Are you a working mom or housewife?

You are really nice!!  So far your sharing did help me a lot.  Very glad to hear that many moms commented Mrs DeMelo was a good teacher.  Thanks for letting me know.
When I picked up my son this afternoon, I have seen 10 tables with 8 chairs at each table already set-up near the canteen.  Although this is outside area, no air-con, but this has cover and I think this is OK.  The school did action promptly.
I will go through the email send by Mr Kenny now.

I am working mom.  My son take school bus everyday.  His travelling time is short around 15mins from home to school.  Therefore, I feel comfortable to let him take school bus.  Anyway, we will meet in future.  Please keep in touch and share school information.

Another teacher whom I knew more is Ms Ackison of 1CA.  She was the PYP coordinator last year in PIS & also helped replacing my son's class teacher on some days during last school year.  Since she had led my son's class in a few outings, I could recognize her putting much efforts in educating the kids.

My girl is in Y4PT. Any Y4 moms here? The teacher is from PIS. I found that the children from PIS talked to her very closely.

I don't think I'm so nice as you imagine.  I'm always too straightforward & some people may find me rather offensive.  Anyway, thanks & nice to meet you here in BK.

My son is in 2CV.  The teacher is from PIS but I don't much about her.  One thing very funny is that there are 2 kids in my son's class who are the kids of RC teachers.  One of them is the class teacher's daughter!  My son told me the girl can't call her 'mom', she needs to call her Ms Ventura in school

BTW, I'm getting more & more fond of the color & design of the school uniform.  It's a uniform, at the same time, it's like casual wear.  This is exactly the outcome the school wanted.

Hi,
I like the school uniform design, but the quality is not really good, the quality of trousers are very thick especially for color khaki.  The T-shirt shrink quite a lot.  Also, I thought the quality of the socks is too thick as well.
As from the website, the uniform are all year round.
For the main uniform, I can buy long trouser for my son.  But for the sportswear, don't think it is good to wear the short pants to go to school.  Is Phoenix also no winter uniform?

Did anyone bought the school bag?  It seems quite heavy even it is empty.  If this is worth to buy?  Do the kid need such big bag?  Any comments?

I'm same feeling as you the school uniform design is good but the fabric and sock is too thick.  Phoenix have summer and winter uniform.  
For summer, I think the PE unitform still OK.  However,I also thinking is it enough warm for winter???

I didn't buy school bag as I checked with school that is optional item.  I use the last year school bag I bought from Dr. Kong becuase not so heavy.  For my last year experience the school bag sizes better can put a A4 sizes folder as teacher will put the homework on the A4 folder and return to home on every Friday but no need so big as no textbook.

Guess I'll make my own decision to ask my son wear long PE pants like the one they wore in PIS (Dark blue cotton).  The RC PE pants is too thin & short for winter.  Or maybe we can raise our concern to Mr Kenny/Muller later.

The school bag is optional.  Even if it is the small size for Y1-3, I still think it's too big for the younger kids.  My son is using the one bought in P1.  I'll buy him the RC school bag when this one is worn out.

Your opinion is useful also. I also thinking if they don't accept we wear the PIS old unitform.  May be I just buy a same color long trouers for my kid and I'll add a long sleeve T-shirt under the polo unitform.  It's look fashion also in winter.  How do you think?  Is it workable?

Your idea is workable.  I'll keep it in mind too.

Though I think it's fine for the kids to wear short-sleeves & shorts during PE for the ease of moving around, I do worry they can get a cold easily in early morning in winter time.  As the RC PE shorts is in dark blue, I think changing the shorts into pants should be fine!!??

I also like to know abt the secondary section of the school.. The ratio - out of 910 students .. I think abt 350 are secondary... anyone know the number of students for Y7 - Y13 ? ALso I am new to the MYP program..

Hi,

My child is in Yr 7. There are 20+ students in her class. If I remember correct of what her advisory teacher said, Yr 7 and 8 - 4 classes; Yr 9 and 10 - 2 classes; can't remember the rest. But the school has not reached its full capacity, so there will be expansion ( but a bit worried how the cafeteria can cope with it)

My child is having good times at RC and so far I also feel good about the school: the English speaking environment, advisory system, teachers etc.
