I have 2 kids just commenced learning piano from Aug last year.

How much would you charge for 2 students of 30 mins each at students' and your home respectively?

我也是教琴的, 教了十二年了. 都好同意你們對現今學生的意見!
至於學費方面, 我沒有跟琴行一級一級的加. 因為我都感到很難於開口加學費. 我收g.1至g.5同等, g.6至g.7同等, g.8又多再多d!! 而上門就是按地區劃一收費. 當然, 在上第1堂之前, 我會同家長講好, 每年有可能會有通漲的合理調整. 不過, 這幾年, 我都沒有加or減!!

我收g.1-g.5同價, 係因為我只是把我識的教授給學生, 當中實在太難去劃分幾多級. 佢叻, 吸收快, 就學多d.
有些學生不會去考試, 就更難去計了. 而 g.6-g.8 是因為我真的要花多些時間去做preperation.
新老師可以參考吓!!

相信大家都有教頑皮學生, 我最近都比其中一個激到想唔教. 每當他媽媽不在港, 佢就會盡力去造返! 初期我唔想破壞同學生的關係, 沒有向家長投訴. 最後忍無可忍, 投訴了. 亦改善了一段日子. 可是治標不治本. 家長的配合很重要!! 我準備要用錄音上堂...  

留堂的確唔錯, 不過上門教就做唔到了...

i have a full-time job now, want to "collect" more students than can change to full-time piano teacher gradually

when you have a full-time job + part-time piano teaching, did you find very busy ? will u choose a "lazy" job because you have to spare time for piano teaching ?

無錯, 由full time job 轉 full time piano teacher 係一個幾難的決定, 因為初頭收入是很低, 但過了幾個月後, 收入都可以ok, 再多幾個月, 你就會很滿足.

我初頭轉全職鋼琴老師, 係因為我唔想再用假面具做人, 好辛苦, 常常賣力不討好. 所以轉左去做全職鋼琴老師

thanks for sharing, i want to know more so that i can equip and prepare myself to cope with full-time piano teaching in future (not in 1~2 years time)

chamywong, i agree that at first the income may not be as stable and satisfied like a full-time job, but for me, the satisfaction from teaching students is invaluable

Esmond'sMum, i think your "full-time job + part-time piano teaching > part-time job + part-time piano teaching > full-time piano teaching" is very good, i hope this can be my path as well.
