Re: Portfolio samples!
Hi, Grace,
Re-post this for your information:-
"Generally speaking, 一般英中 will accept both Chinese and English versions unless it is stated in the application procedures for English version only. Take my daughter's case for example. xxxxxxx, xxxxx and xxxxxx all accepted her application and granted her an interview and finally both xxxx and xxxx gave her an offer. During the school interview with me in xxxx, the first statement made by the two interviewers to me was that the portfolio was neatly prepared ( I'll further elaborate this later). So, I think basically it did not matter much. Of course, an English version will certainly remove the doubt.
Regarding the presentation and binding format, I used a 20-page clear holder( a thin one, not bulky, approx. 10mm thick) to hold all the documents. The school principal's recommendation letter came first, then the personal portfolio, and followed by the photocopies of the reports and certificates in the right order (clearly marked the attachment reference numbers at the top right corner of each page). Use color photocopy as far as possible. But please note that St. Paul's Co-ed last year only asked for 黑白雙面影印本及釘書釘釘裝,no clear-holder was allowed.
Regarding whether only the results for P.5 & P.6 are to be presented, I don't think there are any rigid rules. For my case, all I wanted to present are the continuous improvements and strengthening of my daughter and the variety of activities that she had participated througout her primary school life. I think it is acceptable as far as we limit the portfolio to max. 2 pages."
