Agree with you comments & also have a not so good impression of it. After the interview, I can confirm myself SC is not my cup of tea.

I applied it only as a backup & want to see what a famous kindergarten look like. Perhaps it's a high standard school but it's like using factory mode.

Just my personal feeling & hope other people who treat SC as dream school for their kids or those kids studying in SC don't mind. The above are only my personal view. Thanks.

I have the same feeling as well. Today we went to SC for interview. The impression to me is not that good as expected. Teachers, especially the interviewer was not very patient and didn't show she likes kids too. She even didn't wait until my kid to sit down properly, she started her questions when we haven't settled down in the seats! When asking the questions, she sounded like urgently need the correct answers right away. When asking me the questions, she even was looking around, but seemed not interested in what I am saying about.

If you have to interview several hundred people a day or something, you still can keep your smile face !!! think about it.

SC is not only famous.  She really can train up your kids, not only on knowledge side but also manner.

Now, we are interviewing P1 school.  Few schools already offer a seat to my daughter.  I guess it is not only the name of SC but SC really can train up a good student/kid they like.

Don't be bias on just your one day observation.

I believe that what you said "SC is not only famous. She really can train up your kids, not only on knowledge side but also manner." is definitely true for most of the kids graduated from SC. But we just expressed our own views & thought it may not be suitable for our kids.

I think most of us "did homework" about all different kind of background info of all schools.

IF WE ARE BIAS AS WE ONLY HAVE ONE DAY OF OBSERVATION, most of  the schools judge whether to admit our kids to their school by asking questions in 10-15 minutes' interviews each are even more BIAS. That 10-15 mins may somehow have a great impact on a kid's upbringing ......

Just to share views. I am sure all parents want to choose the best for their kids but just have different judgement, criteria, etc.

SC真厲害, 有辦法吸引這麼多人來面試, 定必有個人之處.

對於我來說, 本來這校在我較前考慮之列, 但面試過後覺得跟我期望的有不同, 所以暫時只列作後備... 雖然我選校的次序經常更改!

我有朋友的女兒以前讀SC, 已找到不錯的小學, 只是各人選校要求不同吧了. 我明年都要為找小一煩惱!

Anyway, interview is not just a one way for the school to select their students.  Parent or even the kid can have a chance to find out if this school is suitable for them or not throughout the interview.  Just like the job seeker.  It is a fair game.

   sc 不是傳統教學的幼稚園,亦不是活動教學得來又學不到野的學校,因為每班都有一位外籍和本地老師,所以值得選擇,因為我個囝囝放假都話要返學...所以選擇一間幼稚園都要睇小朋友讀得開唔開心就最重要...因為每個小朋友學習環境需要都有不同...大多數巳英文教學,而國語要待k2才有得上課(每星期約3堂),
學費為$33xx,冇雜費...自備茶點....校服比其他學校平些...

my kid got interviewed at St Cat today. He was shy and refused to identify himself. He even dared to joke by saying his father's name as his name. He even dared to joke that his name is 中国人!! Luckily, he answered all questions and blew a flying kiss to the interviewer. Maybe, my kid has been kicked out already!!!!

Btw, for those who got SC interview, did you tell the interviewer which school your kid is studying ?? Sbd said it was safer not to mention such or else SC would believe that you don't care about their places and would NOT give you one.  Is that true??

sc 門口好多人,就好似LV成日人山人海咁!在社會上,名氣真係好重要!
其實我覺得SC幾好,我亦都覺得LV好正,不過我覺得讀SC和用LV都一定要有D配套!
通常用得個LV手袋就會想買銀包,就會想成日買名牌!
所以SC的小朋友極大部分都係勁學野,勁補習,勁攞CERT,一個小朋友同時學5樣野都好閒!因為大部分家長都會咁做!
如果AIM AT入名校,就一定係入名幼稚園啦,始終都會著數D!

遲D收生結果出左,或者好多人都會有D驚訝,收生標準並不是在於小朋友的面試表現,而是取決於校方的preference!

不好意思! 太忙沒有時間上網.  其實 hidamama 講的都答了之前兩位一些問題, 或者我再補充一些.

因為是活動中再加上點小功課的教學, 有時要小朋友回家找圖片, 然後在學校一齊商討或功課之用, 又用一些實物作教材, 又或到某些地方教學 (如去郵局教寄信), 令小朋友更容易明白, 這些都像活動教學. 但總有點小功課, 如要小朋友在校畫一些圖片或勞作, 加深印象, 然後又派工作紙在校一齊做, 再派回家給父母看, 派回時你問問小朋友, 他會講給父母聽那工作紙的內容, 從而看到小朋友吸收到的知識.  那星期, 亦會派一些功課關於當時教的內容在家中做, 加深小朋友認識.  每星期亦派一本圖書給小朋友看, 希望親子活動, 但其實所派的圖書, 老師已在學校講過給小朋友聽, 所以他們已知道故事內容, 有時小朋友會要求你再講一次, 有時佢會主動講給你聽, 你會發現, 基本上他們懂得講, 這証明他已學會了.  上課中英文都有用, 基本上簡單的英語對答都OK, 尤其英文及Phonics方面, 因學校每天都有機會用, 所以他不會怕與外國人講話, 在家中你會見他多講了些英文, 很自然的, 不用你問及強迫他學, 他都會運用些英文詞彙, 用英文的信心大了.

功課方面:
K1 - 逢星期三及五有功課, 星期三主要是線條, 星期五就多些親子的功課.

K2 - 每天都有兩樣功課, 中英數其中兩樣, 同樣星期五就會多些工作紙, 課外閱讀及中英數等, 但每樣功課寫的字數很小.

K3 – 基本上與K2差不多, 但寫的字就多點, 一來要學的東西真的多了, 為小朋友開始適應未來小學的課程, 二來小朋友長大了, 已可吸收更多的知識.

普通話方面, 學校並不太著重, 小朋友的普通話只學得不多及很簡單的, 不要期望太多.

K1時, 每班會有一名中文老師, 一名外籍老師及一名助教, 所以照顧小朋友的比例幾乎1:8或1:10.  K2對外籍老師的時間確實是沒有K1時那麼長, 由K2起主要教會話, Phonics及睇英文圖書, 我要返工, 沒有太多時間幫他温習, 但小朋友卻認得很多英文字 (不是寸字), 老師每天教一些, 每天再温習一些 (在學校), 確實有辦法令小朋友學到內裏的內容, 毫無疑問小朋友認識了很多英文生字及句子, Phonics的發音亦很好.  (我小朋友K3, 今年9月, 我曾幫他報過一次劍橋英語課程, 當中有來自其他學校的小一及小二學生在一起學習, 但那老師話他的英文比那小一及小二的學生還要好, 我沒有請甚麼補習先生, 亦沒有報其他英文課程, 今次只是第一次報英文, 很明顯, 小朋友在SC學的英文確實不錯.) 但中文只是一般, 沒有根德園那麼深.

有些人話那些老師很假, 其實試想, 他是一所私校幼稚園, 就算老師扮對學生有愛心, 但至少她們令到小朋友喜歡上學及吸收到知識, 已是它成功之道.  更可況, 有誰可說那一間學校的老師全部都有愛心及教學崇高的理念, 每間學校總有些老師很有教學熱誠, 有些可能是扮出來, 但無論如何, 小朋友讀得開心又學到嘢, 我已覺得很好.  不過, 各人要求不同, 我不能說我滿意就等如其他人都滿意.  同樣, 以我所知, 確實有不少小朋友去補習或參予一些課外班, 但並不是SC教得不好, 我覺得只是現今父母希望小朋友更勝其他人, 為的可能是小一派位, 又可能是社會的現況, 小朋友在外參加其他課程, 好像已成趨勢, 不是只有SC的學生, 其他學校的學生也會報吧! 其實好視乎父母的要求, 小朋友不會自己要求去補習或讀其他課程, 要他們學得更多知識的, 只是我們這班父母吧!
