Apart from the few % whom are selected by 喇沙 on their own (by relationship - which should have nothing to do with the boys' quality/standard), logically 喇沙 students should be "average" only (at least before they admit to 喇沙). Being given too much of pressure and workload, "average" and "below average" boys will not be able to manage it...精英班&垃圾班 may be the solution..

Don't understand your logic in your point 3.  So are you thinking that if your son cannot enter LS, you don't need to spend more $$ and time for his kinder? In fact, for LS, it does not matter which kinder your son studies.  For DBSPD, it do matters.  I believe if you love your son, you will spend $$ and time to develop him as much as you can, no matter which primary school he can enter.

Besides, you also seems to say that having pressure = unhappy???  What logic is this?  Every kid has different character and talent, and parents have to find a school suitable for the kid.  Branded schools do not mean unhappy school life.  I also see many kids studying in non-branded schools have very heavy workload and feel unhappy. In any schools, some kids feel very happy even under high pressure and heavy work. It really depends how parents help the kids to face challenges, overcome barriers and lead a happy life.  

Kids are usually a mirror of parents, they are very affected by parents. So it is better to understand your own view and your kid's character first.

我不是喇沙學生家長，但我估很多學校都有分的。可能不是精英班，但是至少好D 學生一班，一般水準一班。這樣班內競爭會平均一些，不會有一些學生太醒，一些學生追唔上。令學生更多心機學習。

I am sorry may be my English is not good enough.  Point 3, what I am talking about is if KM kindergarten can't help my boy to get in La Salle, I rather study in some schools that near our house.  We can save more times (from transportation, it takes us around 80 minutes).  It is so tired for a 3 years old kid to go school everyday.  Of course he 'have' to do it if it really helps, or else we can save the time to do other activities such as music, arts..
Besides, KM is a quite expensive school.
Yes, I see a lot of children are not happy to do their homework for so long everydays.  2 hours, 3 hours?  Yes, I agreed children have to study and do homework.  
I can finished my homework in school when I was in primary school.  So I have have fun after school.  But now, no way.  Even the children wanted to finish their homework during their rest time in school, the time is not enough.  Do they really need to do that much to maintain their quality?  My nephew is having test every week.  So we can seldom see him.  Is it really good for children?

都唔名點解D家長唔鐘意精英班. 將D程度相近的放在一起教,不是很好嗎? 就好像你去上COMPUTER COURSE咁,都分初,中,高級.

中級的去上高級的,有時都會跟唔上,初級的去上高級的;一是跟唔上,見人人都識,所以唔明都唔好意思問咁多, 之後唔知佢講乜. 一係就乜都問,問埋D個個坐係度的學生都知的野,攪到其它人在猛擰鉛筆和合眼訓, 阻住地球轉.

什麼標籤,什麼心靈傷害,我覺得都是家長把自己的感覺強加到孩子身上,如果自己看得開,自然會正確地告訴小朋友原因.

希望大家支持一下精英制,我情願有 一小班精英,好過全部都是中間派!

我都覺得有直屬中學的小學，
好少分精英班的，無必要吧！
我仔學校orientation day，
校長說我們無分精英班，
因為每個小朋友都是精英，
嘩~~幾鬼encouraging！
咁又係，每個小朋友都是unique的。

我知道喇沙小學是一定沒有精英班的，6班的學生都是很平均。

至於多功課數量方面，雖然有時超過10樣，多數在weekend才這麽多。而且"改正"也當一樣功課，所以功課數量不像傳聞中可怕。
